I never really believed the border was going to happen.

We've got a climate now where demands are being set. So do you agree that Ellison's needs to be strongly shot (no pun intended) down?

100%. No reasonable person would want to get rid of the police force, nor do I think Minneapolis will, regardless of their emotional vote this evening.

Think of how hard it is to fire a police officer. It’s damn near impossible! Now get rid of them all? No chance in hell.

Dumb emotions.

Similar to the border wall that was campaigned for because it elicited emotion from the base even though it’s an impossible idea.

Same concept as I see it, except this one is even more egregious.

My old Governor used to say Texas was going to secede from the Union and people with brains the size of a gnats would hang on his every word and actively vote for him to do such a thing.

Police power is so intricately intertwined. It's a real problem. Getting rid of the police altogether is undeniably NOT the answer. It's why the responses here to the article are as such.

There is something quite different than a single politician bloviating and the city council of a major US city coming out and saying they have the votes to defund and dismantle their police department.
