Blue Prizm gems are around 5000. Last two Trae blues were 4700 and 4300. It’s just crazy to me. If they want to get crazy let em get crazy I guess. Glad I bought him when he was low. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ah, the Prizm Blue. Huge premiums now happening for team color Prizms over the last month or so. I think the Luka Blue set it off. Tatum’s Green is now selling for slightly more than his Silver, when three months ago there was a 30-50% premium on the Silver.

I primarily collect baseball other than some Denver Nuggets stuff, so all team-allegiance bias aside, MPJ seemed like one of the most obvious investment opportunities in recent memory. His Prizm RCs were readily available for < $5 for well over a year after release. Really didn't seem like much of a high risk proposition at all. If you got in early, it was low risk/extremely high reward. If you didn't believe early on, I think your POMO is speaking over what you're witnessing on the court if you still don't believe.

Looking for your honest opinion... I went through an old box and found a little stash of some MPJ Chronicles, a Hoops RC, and a 2nd year Prizm... they mean nothing to me... is this the right time to sell? Or at this point do I just keep it in my box with all my other rookies and let it sit and take a risk? I always seem to sell stuff at the wrong time haha

I added it up and I just spent $1k on a few autos and then a bunch of Chronicles RCs with a few Prizm/Optic base thrown in there. |

I'll all aboard the MPJ train, but he really needs to move on offense without the ball. He just stands at the three point line, I get he's a great shooter, but cut to the basket sometimes instead of just standing there!

I was listening to the radio as MPJ and Mizzou took on Kansas in an untelevised charity scrimmage at Sprint Arena four years ago. But did I load up on his cards, nope, I just got back into cards this year.

MPJ is somewhat revelatory as to what the new hobby landscape looks like. It’s all about recency. Post-hype recovery may be easier to accomplish than ever. Which is why I’m going to buy a ton of Zion in the brief period of time where his prices are lower leading up to next season.

Those holding MPJ are gonna be sorry. I would sell now while you can. I don’t think he can stay injury free.

I get the injury risks but I'm personally holding my MPJ. I'm a die hard Nuggets fan though so I'm willing to gamble. I got in early too.
Def rather risk looking back and missing out on the recent increased prices vs being in the Regrets thread because I sold too soon. Watching him ball for my Nuggets wouldn't be entertaining at that point lol |

He's an easy hold for me. Like the poster above me, I'm a huge Nuggets fan and got in early. His upside is just way too high.

I agree with the team color this. I loaded up on JJJ PHOENIX, Crusade and Optichrome Blue. Had one each of those three in Trae Red. MPJ colors don’t really pop on those Chronicles blues like with Luka and JJJ. THE Trae Young Reds are awesome.

The guy is a starter on a contender. What happens if/when they get out of the first round and he plays well? Nobody is expecting UTA to put up any resistance whatsoever are they? Selling now would be premature methinks.

The obvious play is to sell when he has a good game in the playoffs and buy again in october/november after the 25% price reduction again. Treat it like the stock market, you can keep mining profit from every player you invest in. |

Get your cards graded if you haven't and be ready to sell as soon as he has a good game in the playoffs and hope you can rebuy in the offseason for 60-75%.
or hold long term. I will probably do half and half, sell a few to break even and sit on a few (hopefully 10s)…. easier to say when you get in early and didn't have to drop hundreds to get a stash. As far as Injury risk he is no more risky than any player that sees playing time, injuries happen and there is nothing you can do about it.... Do you think Zion or Luka are unbreakable? They are way bigger risks due to the buy in cost. I think he has elite shooting ability and Steph has shown that is all you need to be a star in the league, but he has soo much more than a good shot, I think he could be one of the next superstars in the league and could be next to see $1000 bass Prizm RCs. I am focusing on a few guys this offseason and he will probably be one of my guys IF his prices do come down some, as of now its more a holding pattern while trying to find steals on underrated cards.

Don’t sell the 6’10 forward who can shoot lights out from three.
