If that’s worth 25k then this must be worth at least that, right?

He needs to control his emotions and strategy and be able to play nice, compromise and do things for the overall good of what he stands for in order to accomplish that.

So, from a card buying standpoint, he can be a fan favorite among his supporters. He's a historical name. Will he be a fad, to be soon forgotten? Will be disappear into obscurity? Will he ever get back into the league whether as a player on the field or in a player's association type role?

I'm not banking on his cards retaining high value. They won't be garbage and maybe autographs have a baseline value and some of his rare short print cards stay in the $50-100 range, but I have many doubts future generations of card collectors will care to collect him as a player.
It's similar to Pat Tillman. Not much of a football resume but he's become a cultural folk hero of sorts for a non-football thing. Future generations will just see him as another guy that didn't win a ring or make into the hall.

Seems like a good time to figure out what to do with this...

I puke in my mouth anytime someone mentions Colin Kaepernick in the same paragraph, page, book as Pat Tillman.

It’s a smart play by the seller, purchased for $1200, take it to Goldin, offer to give 50% to a Social Justice Charity, get news media covering and still walk away like 3x+ your investment. Heck it’s already up to $3K.

Can I put my Manziel PC up on Goldin and donate half the proceeds to a local AA group?

His stuff will sell well regardless of how we feel about him. I'm not so sure long term though.

Colin's legacy is cemented, he'll always be known more for what he's done off the field than on. Yet, I do want to see him get a chance to play again, at least to once and for all end the "is he good enough" debate. If he gets a chance, I'd love to see him get back into the playoffs. It would be great for football and for our cultural fabric.

Long term, he’ll be similar to Ali in the sense that the people talking bad about him now will be among those praising him in 20 years.

It’s weird that some people choose to praise people who prey on underage girls like Ali did.

No. Ali was a consensus Top 10 boxer of all-time. People tend to overlook how terrible of a person he actually was though so maybe people will overlook that Kaepernick was an average QB so who knows. Still the facts speak for themselves...no Pro Bowls, no ROY, no All-Pros, no SB, etc.

I was going to quote the same post and say the Irony of talking about Pat Tillman and the other guy as if they were the same.

But you said it better.

Speaking of Patriots, I though Belichick might give the guy a shot in camp just to kick the tires while grooming Stidham. Then the Cam announcement was made.

His weapon was his running ability. On the field he sucks at everything else, including leadership. He wont see the gridiron again. I doubt he even sees a practice field. . I honestly don't believe he's interested. If my girlfriend sabotaged a likely multi-million dollar job because she wants to attack the character of the owner and a respected advisor of his, she gets kicked to the curb. He didn't do that, he's really not interested.

He is nothing more than a useful idiot that history will forget. He reminds me of Cindy Sheehan.

And here we go! Here's an idea.... If you don't like Kaepernick, don't open the thread and/or definitely don't post. Pretty simple stuff. Why ruin someone else's thread with this BS? The thread was going well until people start thinking that anyone cares about their opinions.
