Serious question. How does everyone here have the time to research, buy, sell, hold, etc.?
I feel like it's a lot of work.

Agree that pictures will be different, but will people pay a premium for the optic preview variation? I’m not so sure; they aren’t doing so today (see singles prices) so idk what changes once there are an abundance of base rookies out there. Given that the main draw of this product are the optic previews, I’m increasingly skeptical these hold their current value.

I went through my junk boxes, pulled every Chrome/Prizm/Optic/Select RC of active players (which wasn't a ton; I used to send everything numbered to COMC, which I regret now), and photographed them ahead of time. Then I wait for a player to score a touchdown or make some sort of fantasy splash play, check out the inevitable spike of completed BIN sales, and list my cards for 20 to 50 percent more, depending on the number of remaining listings. BIN only, no offers. It's been a very successful strategy so far, and the only real work was the half a day or so it took to get everything pulled and photographed. My sales for last Sunday and Monday alone were around $800, all base and regular Refractors/Silver Prizms from 2013-2016, and I didn't list anything until around halfway through the Green Bay game when Davante Adams went off. That's $800 for junk base that was probably worth a total of $20 at this time last year. This hobby is dumb. Last edited by pazerbaijan; 09-19-2020 at 02:45 PM. |

Busted my one box that I had ordered from Fanatics when they first hit. I hate Panini so it's the first box I've broken in years. No auto in the box and jersey was a no namer. However, pulled the Optic Preview of Tua and Herbert so definitely can't complain.

Yea I opened one out of my 10 just to see what it would be like. It was fun. Optic previews of Herbert, chase young, and Akers amongst others. Herbert relic, tua base, CEH and ceedee white hot rookies and two scrub autos. Hunter Henry and Darwin Thompson. Wrong chiefs back

Opened my 2 boxes. No big QB hits in optic previews, only QBs were Stevens and Luton. Best previews were probably Taylor and Reagor.
Hits were: Auto (Bronze): Hurts, Aiyuk Relic: Hurts, Love Both my Dominator were dinged (different boxes). Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk |

It is a lot of work. You could probably save time & effort by focusing on a smaller # of big $$ cards, but that's not nearly as much fun

I decided to open one of my boxes from the case I purchased and I was very happy with the results. I got a Joe Burrow Optic preview so it was worth the price of selling the box for me personally as I’m collecting him.

I broke 5 of the Fanatics Megas and listed all of it on ebay. I was very surprised to net nearly 600. Best cards were Tua and Helaire Optics but everything else sold pretty well too.

At current pricing, best to either rip and grade or just hold. Should have bought a sealed case myself. Burrow, Tua, and Herbert are going to have very long hobby leashes.

I got 6 Optic Preview Tua's from the 15 boxes I opened (which I guess makes me a Tua collector now). I can't remember the last time I had so much fun ripping a product. I've debated buying a few off the bay to rip, since they seem so low right now.

I busted my 5 boxes. Got a few herberts, burrow, tua. Got an optic preview of each.
Rest of my hits... 3 garbage autos, 3 garbage patch cards. The base were all better ironically. Sent all the QB cards to PSA yesterday. A base raw tua optic preview went for a little over 100 this weekend... looking good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Having these graded sp optics back before the end of the year for ROY award ect might be a worth premium. Very few other respected rookie products will be slabbed at that time (prizm, select, ect)

Seems like a lot of these previews are slightly off-center, which makes me wonder if these previews are a way for card printers to calibrate their processes.
