Default Lamelo ball thread

would his cards be higher than Zion and how much love would he get in the hobby. In my opinion he will be better than JA and ZION.

feel like this thread is gonna turn into a long one lol. i think he needs a tighter handle for sure, (looks like he is fumbling or carrying the ball a lot, also missed some easy opportunities where could simply just cross over to beat his defender), otherwise I think he will be fine

While a agree Lamelo needs his own official thread, I hereby denounce this being the one. Title doesn’t pop.

His career is starting out like his brothers.

WOW.... did you see that pass? What about that full court pass?

Gotta show more than passing at some point. This isn't the Australian league.

Curious to see how he does going forward.

Ball was overshadowed by Malachi Flynn who looked awesome. Looks like Masai found another one.

I saw great defensive awareness. Was really impressed on how well he knew his rotations and where the ball and his man were at all times. Anticipating rebounds (grabbed 10). Still raw on offense. Seems more like a great teammate and team ball, than a #1 option type player.

As a Hornets fan/season ticket holder, I was thrilled with what I saw. For those who don't watch this team regularly, you have to remember they weren't part of the bubble and hadn't played since March, when they were on a bit of a heater. They really just rotated a ton of guys around tonight. Wouldn't draw any real conclusions until Lamelo begins to get extended run alongside starters, but he certainly had his moments tonight.

These first few preseason games for a team like the Hornets, which wasn't in the bubble, will be more like an extended practice. Borrego talked about how the top 10 or so guys would get 20 minutes each. Just getting some burn.

LaMelo is going to be really good

LaMelo will never get credit because he lives in a family of psychopaths

hahaha i only watch a minute of this, love the guys who $hit on guys and couldnt even complete one of those nifty behind the back passes. As much as the aura of the ball family annoys me, i cannot wait to watch this kid play, there are like 0 true point guards left. i dont want my PG scoring 30 a game, i want 13 assists and maybe 10ish points. Let's not forget my favorite player is Jason Williams, guy never made an all star team, and was just a "good" player, that said to this day his cards have arguably the greatest cult following of a non ever all star. i suspect this Ball kids cards will go bananas for years. though i dont think he has quite the skill set jwill had in handles/passing, hes gonna be damn near close, and still likely a better scorer.

The NBA today only values three point shooting and ball hogs. IMO Lamelo will be an ok player, but doesn't have the scoring ability to be an all star. I miss the NBA with specialists that were valued. In 10 years the NBA won't have any positions. Every player will be between 6'7" and 7 foot, have good ability handling the ball, and will be able to shoot the three. The center position has already been phased out on most teams.

this. its really sad, and a large reason i hardly ever watch the game anymore, typically just check box scores for card purposes. its like watching a highly skilled/athletic pickup game nowadays. lay ups and 3's with hardly any defense, its like my sunday morning beer league..except ya know, with talents.

It is sad we will never see another Rodman, Stockton, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Kids, Dr J, etc... I loved the 80's to 90's NBA. I really wish they changed the three point line somehow. Make it 2.5 points or move it back. Even making sideline threes not possible.

yeah its too easy. i liked when the mid 00's suns and the we believe warriors kinda did the 3 point thing, because it was new and exciting, but still even the suns had a true big in amare and a true pg in nash. But even if they weren't it was still a novelty that only 1 or 2 teams played this way, not the entire league. and they call Covid19 a pandemic...
