Probstein Nightmare-Looking for advice

Hi Guys. I'm new here and admittedly came here looking for help with a Probstein issue. But I do plan to be here more often now that I for the first time am looking at how big this forum actually is.

SOOOOO here's my issue: Over a year ago now I sent Rick a consignment. It was mostly graded cards but also some raws....and the raws just also happened to include a very nice 1986 Fleer Basketball set that included stickers (Jordan) that had been in sheets and a binder for years. Jordan's #57 was the only card missing. I'd say that back then the value of the raw cards was at least 4K...might not sound like much to some but it is to me. Anyhow, the graded cards were all sold and I was paid for them. But to date NONE of the raws were ever listed. Rick himself and I communicated through messaging on Ebay off and on for several months. Answers were always the same "We're looking for them," "I just hired a new inventory manager so give us some time to locate them,", etc.etc.etc. But now I've been completely ghosted since November...even after threatening litigation.

I'm hoping someone has a better way to get a hold of him...I've tried all his email addresses to no avail. The only phone number I have is the one that goes to a message that basically says "tough luck nobody listens to these." I'd like to speak with him if at all possible. I'd also like to know if someone else has had to file a lawsuit against him and if so who they used. Please PM with any info you may have! Thanks!!!

There have been others posting the same issues. I'd suggest calling his local PD and filing a report. Enough of those and things will change

Agree with Cruiserdaddy. Some heat from the local Police might help him remember where those raw cards were stored. Odds are they have been graded and resold, but you still need to go full court press on him

Interesting? You say 4K is a lot of money to you but you can afford to hire an inventory manager? I wonder which PBM this could have been? Lol!

That was an excuse he was getting from Rick. It was Probstein's inventory manager

Even if it was worth 500, people should be concerned with the fact multiple people are having the same issue with Probstein.

I didnt ban both accounts. Just this one. They were created about the same time but the other one has a hobby related username and is slightly older.

Hello. I'm actually the OP for this one. I finally figured out how to find my older account name. The only reason I had created another was that I'd forgotten what the first one was.

Thanks for the inputs and I'll read up on the related links someone kindly posted. If anybody had sent me any private messages to the other screenname I did not get to read them prior to the ban. Sorry!

The only question I kind of seen unanswered by anyone else was the value of the 86 Fleer basketball set relative to the 4K. I didn't mean that the raw 86 set was all that I'd sent. It was only part of the cards....there were other valuable ones I'd sent such with a 2017 Prizm Bronze Donovan Mitchell among them. 4K is actually probably a pretty conservative estimate. But thanks again to all that submitted some info to help...it's appreciated!
