You definitely lucked out picking up those cards at those prices.

Those are incredible prices. That Court Kings is the 5x7 version? If so, that's probably a $8k card right now.

Yup it’s the 5x7. That’s pretty crazy it’s reached that price point but it was selling other stuff at crazy prices at the time that gave me the chance to grab these in the first place.

Wow eBay one closed at $33.2k tonight. Barely more than the last 7.5 that sold at $32.6k. Surprising after the BGS 9 sale at Heritage this weekend.

That's because a "9" for a 101 is just on whole 'nother level. Even before the age of the net, the card was always a bitch to find a decent example of - with the notorious centering issue and the sensitive red borders. Anything above 7.5 was, and is, considered high grade.

But a Mint 9 Star 101 is a true unicorn. And in the future, it will give the $600K+ PSA 10 86 Fleer a run for its money.

1984 Star XRC #101 (BGS 9) ...... current pop 68
1986 Fleer RC #57 (PSA 10) ...... current pop 315

And should new Boss Turner ever decides to have the boys at Newport Beach grade these ..... well, you can all figure out what's going to happen with the registry guys, Justin T. and those kid$ on the other side of the sandbox.

Unfortunately PSA won’t grade them. A friend of mine spoke to the new ownership and they confirmed this to him

I wish they would but that’s the reality.

The one sold by PWCC is probably pushed by someone since the price was way too high for a 7.5. However, the last one sold for $5277 seemed to be legit. Again, I personally don't buy anything from PWCC since they hided bidders' identities.

Since the Court Kings are a topic thought I would share a (bad) photo of one I got MJ to sign in 86-87 season. I am biased but much prefer the imperfect vintage signatures over the Upper Deck or School camp modern style. Hell Jordan handled the card his DNA is on it! lol

Also have a bagged set too fortunately. I don’t know what to do in terms of authentication or grading . Why bother if you won’t sell.. but just in case ? Hell they could end up with my kids or the be in my coffin.. You may want to try and dig up that time capsule!

Yeah there are stories. You remember most encounters for sure. I loved getting this set signed. Players always liked seeing and signing the big cards. This would be tough to depart with! Again maybe check the Tomb one day..

I was thinking about making an offer on this one. The centering is nice, but uh yeah...the rest is kind of harsh. lol. What do you guys think, should I wait for a better one. I think this card is going to cool off for a bit.

This one is a disaster, don't even consider it. It will be very hard to ever resell in the condition it's in. Better off waiting for a good quality copy imo.
