Sounds like he got rid of his stash and is dissing everything on the way out. Jilted ex-lover syndrome.

He acts like he's saying something that hasn't been said before by a million people. Someone link him to BO.

There is some truth in there....most people getting into it now don't realize that maybe 5-10% of cards in existance are in demand or have significant value. All those blasters you've been buying at inflated prices have yielded what, 2 or 3 cards that deserve to be in a toploader? The top cards of the top players will be fine, the other 95% of cards will wash out.

Of course it will. Some day the sun will expand and envelop the earth. The thing that matters is when.

If I were a speculator why would I care about years from now? You think people who bought Facebook at IPO cared about what its profitability was? Or what it would look like in 10 years? Come on now.

Some may believe he's a douche and not respect him but he wasn't wrong about the future of the market when he bought that Trout Super...he also got a lot of sh*t for it....now that he's seen the illogical growth like 1990 Fleer Boxes going for $500....he might see that as the writing on the wall.

If 1990 Fleer boxes are going for $500, definitely time to sell.

I personally look forward to the bubble bursting. I thought the way the sports card market was rolling along 3-4 years ago was just fine, made a few bucks at some shows, otherwise collected the stuff I wanted to collect (and had $ for), and that was that. Even if the bubble bursts, I can't really see the market being any worse off than it was around that time - unless, of course, there's a strike after this year, in which case all bets are off.

Derek Carr has broken his heart..... I am sorry Vegas Dave... Your investment was terrible. Not only Mahomes but now Herbert is in his division! I suggest you sell your collection ASAP. You heard it here first!

He's got some truth behind what he says, but he's still a dbag so people will bash him. Best advice is to diversify what you have. If 100% of your assets are in cards, you're going to be hurting just like he said.

Spread it around to stocks, crypto, gold, etc and everything will be fine.

He's saying the exact same thing everyone else is...I'm not sure why he thinks he's original or that his words should be holy writ.

The issue is that people listen to muppets like this and allow them to influence their thinking. Might see some knee jerk reactions this week by those unwilling to do their own homework.

The Pokemon thing is pretty funny...I'll go out on a limb and say that they continue to be popular.

As if his opinion really matters. Remember, this guy lost his ass on Derek Carr cards, carries around purses, steals other people's SS #'s and slaps around women in his spare time.

Yeah, he's wrong about Pokemon for sure. It's picking up steam and then there's Fortnite right behind it. Those won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Sportscards fall WAY before those 2.

This. We can stop the thread now. Don’t give this chump any more attention. Sells Trout to buy a bunch of Derek Carr, loses his a$$, will probably claim it’s a “long hold”, lashes out trying maintain his own perception that he’s the smartest guy in the room, (hopefully) exits stage right.

A weekly thread title here! Been getting these weekly for months and months!

This guy sounds like one of those talking heads on CNBC that comes on to voice his opinion rather than stay put in his bunker and keep making cash. I don't see the point of his post???

I think his thoughts on Pokémon cards are incorrect. I was a kid of the 90s and these were extremely popular then. When that generation turns 60, they will still be buying these Pokémon cards because of nostalgia. I think the Pokémon card market will be strong at least for the next 20 years if not longer.

Yeah. Think he went a bit overboard on Pokemon. Will the market there correct to a degree? I'm sure it will. Don't think they will ever wind up the "biggest waste of money," though.

I know unemployed basement dwelling millennials don’t want to hear this, but.....he’s right.

As interest rates start to creep up in the next 2-3 years, these inflated collectible prices are gonna tank.

I am looking forward to finding sports cards blasters at Walmart again!

Agree with several others. The dude is a tool but I think he will be right. I am of the opinion that this will be the best year the hobby may have ever seen. But it will be the peak. The question is how fast we come down the other side of that mountain.
