I guess the birthday party ended because of COVID.
Anyone like to participate in a lobbying effort to get them removed?

If convention organizers don’t remove them, we’d learn even more about how the hobby “works”...and would have reason not to support the National.

You already know how the hobby works.

This is very disappointing. It's almost like the sports card collecting hierarchy is conceding the hobby is a racket.

What's new? Most collectors would stab each other in the back also over cards...

Not ‘collecting hierarchy’ but the flipping hierarchy. Most people who started out intending to try to find an honest way to live off the hobby selling cards have been corrupted.

All of the exposed cards from this thread and more totaling over 4300 are sorted by sport and then layer last name by going to https://www.tiffanycards.com/buyer-beware . You can even search for a specific serial #.

How many hundreds of thousands is Nat into in altered graded cards…?

Seems as though if Nat really wanted to be honest and send a message, he’d take his own altered cards off the registry and crack them out of their cases…

…although that would reward other scumbags who will try to profit themselves from the now lower pop reports of those cards.

Interesting development, the altered card shown below from Dec 2019 and outed by Superdan, cert #41228101, has been deactivated by PSA...
Perhaps the set registry owner shown got involved?

1950 Bowman #248 Sam Jethroe PSA 8 to PSA 9
Alteration types: Trimming
Set Registry status: Barrefrank's 1950 Bowman Basic Set

Sold on 9/11/2017 as a PSA 8 by PWCC to johnnyadamsjr for $91.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 8/13/2018 as a PSA 9 for $1,126.01
Final price: $1,126.01
Value gain: $1,035.01!

The left edge of this 1950 Bowman Sam Jethroe card has been trimmed rather significantly, as seen from the red boxes. The green circles are print spots and/or stains that prove the images are of the same card. Regarding the grading, it's telling that Johnny Adams didn't think he had to get rid of that brown stain on the reverse to get this card upgraded. Moreover, in addition to the trimmed cards, this PSA submission (which I believe to be a PWCC "special clients" sub) is also full of grade bumps awarded by PSA of untrimmed cards sourced to Johnny Adams and then sold by PWCC.

This one was deactivated also. The certs around the two cards are good, so these two cards were targeted by PSA.

An absolutely incredible monetary gain here on this trimmed 1954 Bowman Gordon card. The right edge has been trimmed, creating one of the two PSA 10's ever graded. The trimmed edge has been boxed in green in both obverse photos. The purple circles are paper fibers and/or print spots confirming the two images are of the same card. More information on this card to come shortly.

Quite a few more of the Johnny Adams, Jr. submitted cert numbers from this 2015 submission
have been intentionally deactivated by PSA from the database.
The cert #s that have been deactivated were never mentioned in this thread.
The smattering of cards that are still active in this cert run appear to be grade bumps only.

I wonder if they got Brian's words wrong, that quote doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Wouldn't it be easier if PSA didn't grade the trimmed cards?

How about lobbying to have PSA removed from the National?
