Purchased the Rosario /25 auto relic. Never bought one before. I fully recognize it will never be worth the 249.99 I bought it for today from Topps if I sold it but it’s priceless to me and I won’t.
Love that the base relic is guaranteed to be from last night’s game we attended where they finally advanced to the World Series again.

Agreeing with ewokpelts. The NOW cards are awesome for those who attend games, especially when the card merits a relic. The cards do come at a price and like Rosario not being Trout but having Trout-like prices, it's the cost of getting one.

Hope you get a good card!

Oh, and call the stadium and see if you can get a ticket stub printed if you didn't already. Worked for me for Cleveland and Texas at the end of the season, so nice to have the stub and card together.

The white Sox had a “first playoff game” certificate when we went a few weeks ago. I’m going to frame the ones my sons got with the now cards from that game. Make a cool little thing for them to remember.

Dear Platinum Members,

Last night was Game 1 of the 2021 World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros, and after some very special pregame ceremonies, the game itself started in historic fashion.

Prior to the first pitch, Angels pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani was honored on the field with a presentation of the Commissioner's Historic Achievement Award. This award aims to salute those who, either with a particular feat in a particular year or within a longer career arc, make a major impact on the sport of baseball. As the game's first ever two-way All-Star and incredible numbers he posted this past season, this was a perfect award to bestow upon the 27-year-old superstar.

When it came time for the game to start, the excitement only ramped up, and it was Braves outfielder Jorge Soler's time to reintroduce himself. After missing the NLCS due to being on the Covid-19 injured list, the former American League home run champion clobbered a leadoff home run on the very first swing of the game. This was the first time in MLB history that the leadoff batter hit a home run in the top of the 1st inning.

To commemorate these historic moments, we will be offering the following cards:

Editorial: So glad to see Ohtani playing in the World Series. The game used base with the Astros logos on a card commemorating an award completely unaffiliated to the game will reflect his participation succinctly. May be the worst card Topps NOW has ever come up with for financial assault to buyers. Even the Machado table cloth was just a funny niche.

Sounds like Manfred level of idiocy.

I get an auto by itself, ABSOLUTELY. They just got greedy.

Added this for fun... Houston bases don't even have dueling team logos for the World Series. ouch!

We do apologize for this late update - but after some deliberation - we ultimately will not be able to offer the Shohei Ohtani base relic card today. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, we were looking to tie a rare moment with an item that was used in the game that followed, and ultimately were told we could not.

The base from last night's game will now be used for the Jorge Soler card - which now becomes an autograph-relic /99 and down.

The baseball that was originally tied to the Soler moment is now going to be used for Adam Duvall's home run that helped the Braves onto their Game 1 victory.

Please let us know if you would like to adjust your reservation any further, outside of the Ohtani reservations which will now be voided.

Good to see Topps do the right thing. They previously had a Trout/Yelich with a base relic during the World Series and that was odd.
