Exactly this. Even if they had put his XRC in 1992 Traded it might have diverted some attention, but the SP was so shiny.

We were floored by SP. It was insanely expensive, like $3 a pack or something, but it was so cool. Chipper might have been the most popular card at first.

They put all the prospects at the end of the set, and made them look totally different than the rest of the set. Bold move.

It's going to be really confusing for the younger players that are still years from the MLB. Their Prospect cards in 2019 BB and 2020 BB, then "RC" in 2021 BB, then prospect cards again in 2022 BB, then a "(RC)" in 2023 BB. Really strange situation.

Whoever has possession of Wander's Birth Certificate has his "True" RC card. I have absolutely no desire to own the Bowman's Best "RC." I will however own one copy of the Topps Series 1 "RC Logo" card.

At this point, who really cares except people who have money in this situation already?

Nothing strange at all, only a few people are taking the checklist seriously. The masses wont even remember this in 5 months. Base cards. Ugly ones too.

Dumb money chasing even dumber money. Best to opt out of this debate and focus on blue chips, like Griffey Star Rookie. Which Griffey card is the rookie? That debate was settled 30 years ago.
