Damn I completely whiffed on the Lebron thing though - for some reason had it in my head that he only extended with a player option. So no Lebron+Victor+Pop trifecta.

Best unrestricted FAs next summer will be Wiggins, Kyrie, and D'Lo.

I have a feeling Wembanyama will end up on the Spurs. It would only be fitting for the SW division. Every team has gotten a top young player recently except them. Might as well make it complete.

DAL - Doncic
NO - Zion
MEM - Morant
HOU - Green, Smith
SA - Wembanyama?

I'm sure the Nets are aware of this issue and are addressing it. I'm sure they assume teams are game planning for something around that.

End of the game Claxton won't be on the floor and I'd assume rotations to keep them on the floor together minimally, but what do I know.

well that's exactly what I talked about in my post... Simmons + Claxton on floor = bad spacing.

Simmons on with Claxton off = bad defense, especially interior.

They're just not a very balanced team. So they need the sum to be cohesive and end up greater than the individual non-fitting parts, but I don't see it.

I wonder how many teams will be tanking this year. I’m assuming Pacers, Thunder, Hornets, Spurs and Jazz(should be terrible at tanking- still too much talent)

More than a third of the league is safely eliminated from being a contender before the season even starts. They’ll all tank.

Wimbledon dude looks impressive.

But never in the league's history has a guy his height sustained a prolonged career without tremendous injury setbacks. Seems every inch you go above 7 feet, your odds of breakdown increase exponentially. Typically back and foot problems.

Hope he avoids all that, but most likely whoever drafts him will get a handful of stellar seasons to maximize followed by extreme despair. Best case they can hope for healthwise is a Porzingis situation.

He's already more skilled than KP was or ever will be. He can actually dribble and create his own shot. That's something KP has never been able to do. Just a pick and pop guy or rim a roller. But yeah big men over 7 ft seem like they have always had problems staying healthy besides the occasional few.

Kid looks like the real deal for sure to me though. NBA teams must be drooling over him.

Not talking about skill whatsoever. I specifically only mentioned the health aspect. I think they'll both follow the same path in terms of games missed. 7'1 is pushing it, and 7'2 and above is a death wish for nba durability. That's probably more a function of physiology and science.

Yeah there gets a point where humans aren't supposed to be that tall. They said he was 7-4 i thought he was 7-2. He doesn't play stiff though so maybe that will help seems pretty agile for his size. Makes you wonder how the heck Shaq stayed relatively healthy with the weight plus the size for so many years.

Generational tanking on the way. Forget the usual suspects. We might see some fringe playoff/Play-In teams doing some madness tbh.

Even if you miss out on Vic, Scoot looks good as a consolation.

Shaq was an outlier. Only thing I can possibly think of is that his frame was stout and looked more robust than most men his height. Most of his early career was spent built like a highly conditioned NFL lineman (think I read somewhere that he was <10% BF), whereas majority of guys that height are very slight of frame with small bone structure.

Take that back. Gobert is probably the best example of peak health in a 7+ footer in today's game, despite the fact he's had some issues. But he also doesn't handle the rock and run the floor nearly as much as Wemb, who looks like he'll be utilized in the same mold as a SF. A ton of running/cutting/jumping. Wemb is currently 7'4 barefoot, and he may not even be done growing.

Because Shaq was proportionally suited to be 7 foot.

The NBA has not been kind to people built like Victor. His BMI is 19-21 depending on what weight you use. Giannis had a BMI of 19 entering the league. So he can definitely build his frame, but those extra 4 inches are going to make it a lot more challenging.

Myles Turner 8 shots in first half 6-6 from the line.

It's almost like they are showcasing him to another team

But he was overshadowed by Aaron Nesmith kicking off his MVP season

But if you do watch the broadcast you will see Nesmith take over the game.

daeve slacking.

Sources: There was a physical altercation at Warriors’ practice today that has the team considering disciplinary action toward Draymond Green.

Seems like it's not gonna be a big deal, other than it may be alluding to potential issues midseason with Poole if he's not getting 'his'.

Looking forward to the podcast!!

ha, I saw it but I got busy tonight - Most likely suspended a game or two... seems those two go at it as Draymond likes to be the drill sergeant and Poole is a sh*t-talker by all accounts.

Skills look great, but his team was losing almost the entire game! Hard to believe that anyone on the court could stop him.

Triple single in his 1st game back. Mid season form.
