Is it just me, or has Vlad shown up in the "best shape of his life" every one of the last three years? Somehow I feel like its an annual hype at this point???

It seems like he's more into going to gym than playing baseball. Time will tell.

If he somehow stays on the field all year he’ll hit 35 hrs and add another gold glove.^
I think his dad is a body builder so he might be planning for his next career

Maybe he is just hitting his peak physical shape each year. I mean the kid is only turning 24 this year. Plus when you show up that chonk really no where but up to go each year hopefully.

My favorite line about this topic.

“Coming into spring training, so and so is in the best shape of their life. If you consider round the best shape.”

Please forgive that round isn’t actually a shape.

Honestly recent photos of Bichette in Spring Training had me thinking he put on a few pounds of non-muscle. Could just be the angle etc.

I'll take your word for it. This pic of Mark Wahlberg in a cardinals jersey seems like strange backing evidence though.

Mookie spent the off season at some baseball academy in Washington and put on 15 lbs of muscle. Probably some BALCO related baseball academy but I'm expecting an MVP

He was hurt most of last year. He hit .280 in 2021. He'll be fine.

Mariners: Cole Young, SS
The Mariners’ player development department has a hitting mantra, “Dominate the Zone.” It seems like Young, Seattle's 2022 first-round pick, will be able to do just that. The Pittsburgh-area prepster was one of the better pure high school hitters in the class, and he showed off his all-fields approach when he hit .367/.423/.517 during his brief pro debut. Those who might be concerned about his impact should know he’s put on about 15 pounds of muscle this offseason.
