My LCS also has a lot of retail offerings. He doesn't charge that much more than Target or Walmart and the stuff seems to move pretty well. I think ppl come in and are willing to pay a little more for to support a local business and not have to potentially fight crowds or waste time going to a big store only to find nothing there.

What a self-fulfilling prophecy.

An LCS is a resale shop. Yes, they do get new product direct from the manufacturer or through a distributor, but where do you think everything else comes from?

Same here. I enjoy ripping the same day I purchase, but not at double the price. They’re pricing themselves out of business.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with an LCS getting retail offerings from distributors, marking them up a little, and then offering the product. Unfortunately this isn't the norm, but it's great to hear that's how it's handled in your town.

There's absolutely everything wrong with an LCS sending in goons to clear or deplete retail shelves to make their shop the only place you can purchase said products and then marking them up at astronomical levels. This happens much more than you think.

Still no SCC drop at Target online. Been to two physical locations in the LA area but shelves were cleaned out minus some hockey.

Yep. I've noticed retail in my area has gone from being relatively easy to find to rare now that we have a new LCS in the area. Given the market, it should be easier to find. Blech.

Stadium club chrome is cool but if it’s water down like everything else , it won’t mean much

Has anyone ripped ?

I see flagship super boxes have sold out, good to see something sells out . Target probably hated shipping those behemoths

It isn't, at least according to myself and many others who have ripped.

Stadium Club Chrome is probably the best retail offering in awhile, I got two autos in one blaster lol a Hoskins /99 and a couple wave refractors which I thought was a bust until I saw they are rarer than base autos at 1:113 packs.

If someone ripped all those boxes on that shelf I wouldn't be surprised if they had good results.

Stadium club chrome was the most fun I had in a while, no autos but love the xfractors!

I still never see half those offerings around here. No Big League. No SCC. Baaaaarely any Series 1. It's always bonkers to see what lurks in other areas. It's all hockey and football.

Those super boxes were a decent deal, basically 2 blasters with the extra foil pack, pin, and companion cards.

Not just distributors. Fanatics is really ramping up retail SKU sales to hobby shops. Right now I can see Series 1 blasters, fat packs and hangers, and Bowman blasters as available to purchase.

My shop owner has a thing on the counter for single packs of different products.
It didn't take me long to figure out the single packs were from blaster boxes.
I didn't have a problem with them selling blasters, but I thought busting open the blasters and selling the packs singly was a bit shady.

I think 2023 Bowman has a blaster SKU specifically for Hobby shops. At least it looks that way from the odds sheet posted on their website.

Hobby packs have better odds and this the theft risk is higher.

I don’t think there’s anything shady about that as long as people know what they’re buying. I’m not sure who would want to sit there and buy and open single blaster packs, but there’s nothing shady about that unless the shop owner is trying to pass them off as hobby packs.

Or unless the owner is weighing packs or otherwise identifying the packs most likely to have hits while selling the discarded packs. That would be the lowest of the low, though, and I can't really imagine someone with ethics like that to be able to maintain a business that relies on local support.

People still use BackYard Breaks when they have stolen (not sent out cards to customers) and other breakers that do that.

If an LCS owner is weighing packs from a $30 blaster and keeping the “hits,” I don’t think he’s going to make it very long in this hobby.

The packs are not obtainable by customers. They're also not marked as blaster packs in the display. They are marked as blaster packs on the individual packs. I found this out after I bought a few. I should have asked before I bought them I suppose.
Live and learn.
Edit to add, they're priced at hobby prices and don't reflect retail prices which I thought was a tad deceiving.

Depending on the product, there isn't THAT much of a difference between the per pack price of retail vs. hobby.

Anyone that bought the 2022 Donruss Football set with the gold press proofs, I just opened one and there were ZERO Rated Rookies in there. Duplicates of vets but not a single rookie so heads up
