Idk. I've been wrong alott in life... but this card just isn't sharp enough to be mint. To my mind the real one got switched out. Sell an inferior copy for 90 percent and regrade. Am I the only one that thinks like this?

some folks are troglodytes when it comes to handling/preserving slabs

Eh, seems to me the slab is all scratched and dinged up. The card looks fine, you cant really determine the condition of a card from a simple scan.

This is why there is authentication on SLABBED cards ... because PSA will be able to detect if the slab itself is fake in these instances. vice versa CGC inspects all other slabs. |

That bottom left corner is not mint and the edges also look bad.

Scans and pictures can sometimes hide damage or even reflect light in a way that shows “damage”. You would need to see the card in person to see if it is as bad as you say. You cant trust scans or pictures.

This. ^^ A lot of the older stuff just gets re-holdered. So many PSA 10s (old ones that are re-holdered or new ones freshly slabbed) that are obviously 7s or 8s at best. And for this we are held hostage for premium fees.

PSA used to be so much easier on grading, especially on pre 2015 stuff

I’m confused
Are we saying that PSA used to be easier on grades? Or that hologram slabs are harder to fake? Or harder to crack? Or both? Or neither?

Top edge has been trimmed, slope from right to left. It's a bad trim job as you can see the wave on the top edge doesn't fill the holder properly.

It's not rational tho. Just get an old label reholdered and it's same card in a new slab. |

Like I say I've been wrong before. I just think it's easier to fake the old labels... but it probably just as easy to make a fake psa label with the hologram. Idk.
I also think psa used to be a little easier on certain cards... but to my eye that one is a reach.

PSA will still examine the card and the old holder before reholdering. If it doesn't pass authenticity check then they won't do it. Old slabs and old labels are much easier to fake.

Probstein as the seller pretty much confirms any suspicions.

But they don’t grade it again It’s a slab inspection So odds are you’re getting the same card in a new slab. We all know this

This is why i've steered away from PSA from ~2012- 2022 when i gave in PSA and the market. Every PSA 10 had flaws when i got back in. BGS at the time was an easy choice for modern.

I would rather take a Black Label BGS 10 than a PSA 10
