I think it is the peace of mind of knowing the package arrived and was received by them. I know when I send subs that I am constantly looking for them to pop. Glad I didn't send anything for this promo. Seems like a headache so far.

Mine were delivered on the 17th, nothing yet. So sounds like (hopefully) I'll be up in the next day or 2.

My 4 week psa/COMC grading submissions are into their 6th week. Probably had to print up some new 10 labels.

Feels relevant to ask at this point if the 20% off discount will apply when they are no doubt late on submissions.

I'm sure they will, but the clock doesn't start until they log in the packages. This creates a perverse incentive for them to drag their feet accepting shipments when there's a log jam.

Case in point, I sent in 2 packages for the sale: Friday August 11 and Monday August 14.

The first package was logged in and 82 Elite cards have already been processed. The Select cards show a due date of September 6. The 16-week cards show a due date of December 15.

The second package (sent the next business day) hasn't been logged in yet. USPS shows delivered, and COMC acknowledges it was delivered, but they haven't logged it in and it won't be tardy until 16 weeks after they do log it in.

I'm not 100% certain what the deal with Fresh Pulls is, but I imagine that it's considered timely if it was mailed before the deadline, regardless of when COMC logs it in to the system.

Terrible look by holding onto these so long. Their already long processing times get even worse when they sit on our stuff for 2+ weeks.

Just subbed my first card for 12 week psa grading. Think it'll come back a 9 or 10 even though comc said it had print lines.

156 of ~350 card Summer special submission showed up in my inventory tonight.

Entered processing exactly 3 weeks ago on 8/7/2023, so it took exactly 3 weeks for partial deposit to show up on 8/28/2023.

My submission was delivered to COMC on 8/16 and still not logged in yet. Hopefully they get to it today.

I’d guess that a lot of the promotional submissions were for Select or Elite services, so COMC might be strategically entering those submissions on bit of a delay to help them meet the processing guarantee times once they’re entered.

There was no way for COMC to really gauge how many submissions they’d get for the promotion, so easiest solution would be to stagger / delay entering submissions to ease the flow of processing.

I contacted them last night stating that I understood the delay, but just wanted confirmation that the box was received, I was expecting the cards that I sent on the last day to be longer than four months, but i was not expecting almost two weeks before it went through the initial processing.

The first summer promo box that I shipped has already made about 650 of the 1200 cards ready for listing, so the card listing for standard is still well ahead of the four months. That makes me wonder even more why they were not able to take some of the manpower that went towards that and use it for the initlial processing.

Even a simple email confirming the receipt of the shipment and setting an expectation for a delay in processing would have been okay, but leaving people hanging like this is bound to have a lot of people asking questions.

Yep. All most want is transparency and communication. COMC doesn't do either of those well.

Fwiw, I sent in 2 boxes (1 large flat rate, 1 medium flat rate) for the submission special that arrived on 8/16. The medium flat rate was scanned in yesterday. I'm assuming that means there is a good chance the large flat rate goes in today.

Well said. Transparency would likely have cost them alot of these submissions to begin with so there is no incentive for them to be upfront and honest.

Had you told me they would be sitting on my stuff 2+ weeks without scanning them in, I'd have never sent them. It's simply no longer worth the discount. I've got 2 Ohtani Autographs in a larger Elite batch along with his Sapphire RC. I lose more and more money daily. Typically the Elite service is quick, I can't even get the stuff scanned in.

So sent two medium flat rates with specials that arrived 8/16 and were logged last week.

They started scanning all the different orders including some standards to the point that the standard specials logged last week have now “lapped” some older standards I’d sent in which have due dates in September and have a higher percentage of the full order scanned.

You never know with comc.

The last standard order I sent in was about 250 cards, and they received and put 230 of them into my account in the first week. I assume the remaining 20 will sit there until the 16 week period is almost over.

Still waiting on my large flat rate delivered on 8/16. Seems a lot were delivered that day, crazy how some were logged last week though while others are still waiting.

Guy, I really dont think they knew what to expect. Thats the only truth here. The earlier packages received during the first few days of the special were logged in 3-4 business days. They then got slammed with a boatload of packages around the middle of August, by the deadline date for the special. Maybe they should have known they would get a massive volume, maybe people sending in should have guessed that too and sent earlier instead of waiting. Hindsight

My large flat rate sent 8/16 is still not checked in. I understand the delay. What doesn't sit well with me is standard cards getting processed from the promo while my direct-to-grading and elite cards are just sitting there.

I sent a grading sub to my usual connect a week after subbing this to COMC. It's already on the way to Cali.

Not a good start to my first direct to grading sub with COMC.

And like clockwork, my large flat rate from 8/16 got checked in today. One question I have is that this is my first time submitting to COMC in several years and when I did it before, the cards were processed no earlier than a few days before the deadline if not the day of the deadline. It sounds like a lot of the Standard are moving significantly faster than that now. Would it be a reasonable expectation to think that a lot of my standard submission could be done in time for the Black Friday sale if not even earlier?

With things like informed delivery and their own knowledge of typical volume compared to an expected increase for this promotion, who couldn't foresee this? That said, hanging onto things for over 2 weeks is worse than I would have expected. I figured instead of 3 maybe 5-7. Not 14 days and counting. I'm reasonable my guy, but this is a bit beyond for my taste.

Thankfully, I somewhat did this. My first standard shipment was cards that I was putting aside for shipment anyway plus a quick search for anything that was valuable.

The second standard shipment consisted the cards which I found going through about 100 boxes of inventory that were sitting there for the past few months or a year and picking through cards mostly on the border of worth shipping at 50 cents. It took time to look through those, so I held my second shipment until the last day to get as many cards out as I could.

The bright side of this for me is that nothing in that second shipment is really time sensitive.

Is there some way to tell COMC that whatever they use to generate eBay listing titles is failing for a specific kind of cards?

If you see an eBay listing that is faulty somehow, I would send them a message through eBay using the contact the seller option. Then explain what the problem is.

I had a faulty auction listing a month or so ago, and I messaged them through eBay to see if they could fix it. Within 24 hours they had cancelled the old listing and reposted a new auction with the correct information in the title.

Ill just say, once their volume started to go up earlier this month around August 10th or so, they should have assigned more workers to the receiving department. I dont think theyre deliberately holding packages back. They just dont have enough people working on opening and processing the packages.
