Try not waiting til they are about to end. Often if they have a lot of views or watchers ibwill debit much sooner. Too many of those actually hurt your overall search ranking.

Bump, don’t like seeing this thread on the 2nd page.

Picked up 7 vinyl lps to add to the collection for $2 each. All very nice condition. Don’t see these very often anymore for reasonable prices.

Ramones - end of the century
Meatloaf - bat out of hell
Led Zeppelin - II
Gary numan - pleasure principles
Foreigner - head games
Neil young and crazy horse - rust never sleeps
Rolling Stones- still life

Left a few others behind “for the kids.”

There is a small thrift store here that has vinyl for free all the time. I never look at it. I do look at the VHS section since I'm starting a collection and they are usually free.

Went to an estate sale this morning bough a bunch of low dollar flip items nothing major
A couple of old circus metal magazines for a quarter each guitar magazine with dimebag on cover for a quarter. About 30 cassettes mostly jimi hendrix and Clapton for a quarter each. Best item was a Kenner star wars figure poster. That should double what I paid for everything

Went to an estate sale that was ran by the family. They were telling people that they had looked everything up online and was pricing at 50% of the online prices. This led to some high prices but I did manage to spend $60 and should 5X my investment. The worst part of the sale was a flipper who approached me starting complaining (loudly) that the sellers had looked everything up and this was just a big waste of time. I told him that of course the family wanted to make as much money as they could, so he just shook his head and walked off.

I always feel a little bit bad at estate sales, especially when the family is the one who is running the sale. Hearing that guy complain about the prices made me feel worse.

With estate sales there are different types. The one I frequent they are liquidators their goal is to get rid of everything. Of course they want to make the most they can for the family as they make more but their end goal is cleaning the house out. They have fairly set prices on everything like yesterday they had atari 2600 games for 5.00 each. Most of those are a hard pass at that price, but whatever is left after 815 Friday morning I could go in and put in a basket and get them for 25 or 50 cents each on average or less. Same with DVDs and other stuff. Or I can offer to buy out all of the remains in the kitchen or certain rooms. I ofther make more profit on the last day than I do on the first day but first day tend to get the quality.

Yeah I've been to a few that were run by an outside company and those definitely had more realistic "get rid of this stuff" prices. I'm sure family members have some personal attachment to things which makes it tough.

This sale was weird because they definitely had looked some things up but seeing 1991-92 Hoops sealed box for $50 is absolutely not half of what they sell for online. But then I picked up a new old stock Craftsman tool set for $2 so I'm not sure what they were looking at. It's those types of sales that makes it invaluable to at least have some idea of the price of items outside of your niche.

I've been buying up ephemera lots like crazy the last two weeks. It's so much fun to go through it all and some of it can sell really well depending on content. The con is that is can sit for a longgggg time. If you're in it for the long haul I think it can be pretty profitable.

I love finding bags of random epherma. Go through them when have free time. Got one today at a sale loaded with 1960s Disneyland odds and ends. Parking permits ticket stubs brochures and other little paper items. Paid 2.00 for the bag should turn a couple hundred out of it.

Also went back to the estate sales I went to Wednesday today as it was final day. Spent less than 10.00 at both and got parts to an old mongoose bike from the 80s a Doug flute signed photo 2 signed drumheads(gotta figure out who) some nasa employee empherma and a few other odds and ends. The bike parts alone should bring 150 or more.

A couple of other sales picked up a near complete gi joe awe striker 5 or 6 gamecube games and some 90s alternative cassettes. Paid 10 for all that should do another 150 or 200 there depending on if I choose to list or keep a few items tgere

One of the drumheads is I am pretty sure it's Alan White. If so that's a huge score. Paid less than 1.00 for it

This is the one I am still working on. Not certain it's a drummer. But reference could be referring to dennis chambers

My neighbor is in financial crisis mode. He's had a old car I've been eyeballing since moving in. It's a fairly rare and desired model but the condition would have to improve just to call it horrible. Every aspect of the car needs full restoration. He's comparing it's price to concourse restorations sold at barret jackson. Meanwhile got some weird modern version of a victrola that is an 8-1 device. It almost every format of music ever made. Cool it's going in the weight room which I have been outfitting with only cheap finds locally. You'd be amazed at what you can find.

Still trying to figure out that drummhead. Closest is Taylor Hawkins but that's not really close either.

I mentioned the Disney stuff went back to that sale found a bunch of old travel slides many are from Disneyland in the 1960s. I am trying to decide what to do with them. Honestly thinking of getting some made into prints then go to a printing company that can make them into postcards for about 30 cents each.

That was one I had not thought of but do not think that's it.

Been keying on the dennis. Dennis wilson was never officially replaced by the beach Boys. That's where Taylor Hawkins popped up. Kinda leaning to it just being a random unknown who replaced a drummer for a very short time or was a one night sit in

What is the going rate for bulk legos with some random megablocks mixed in? Have a yard sale in a couple weeks and found a tub of them.

Thanks!

You and I both. I've been buying more DVD's lately though. That and Taylor Swift CD's. Always sell within a day or two and can usually pick them up for .25-.50 cents at garage sales.

Would love to know this too. I just listed 3lbs of Legos for 19.99 shipped and have no idea if that's too high or low. I usually pull all the minifigs out and sell them separately and then stash the Legos until I get enough bricks pound wise to off-load them.

I have been listing lots of DVDs as well lately. The estate sale company I do buyouts from often has many left at the end of sales. I am able to scoop them up for pennies. They are easy to list and store. Make great list and forget items

Are you listing them individually or in lots by movie type? I have a source to get DVD's really cheap, I just haven't listed any before.

Really depends many are individually especially those that are new Orwell for 8.00 or more alone. If I have a group like first 3 hellraisers I will lot them up for slightly higher than their individual price. If it's a movie that sells for less than 8 and has a good str I list it individually.

If they are damaged or don't meet my requirements I donate them. I eonetimes will do a genre lot for these sometimes if I have alot from one genre that don't meet my requirements.

I have also gone through declutter for the ones I don't list but their buy prices I get more credit donating
