I believe it’s not determined by a number, but by emotional maturity. It is all dependent on how you were raised and life experiences. Some reach it early, while others never get there.

When you can have a friend-level relationship with the opposite gender but not want to get in their pants.

Fortunately for some I guess almost every 3 year old will fit your description.

When you don’t mind that your wife goes out every night with different guy friends and is active on Tinder.

Wait, does this mean Brazzers joined Blowout as a 14 year old???

Maybe we should take more responsibility for how we've raised him. Remember, every finger we point leaves three more pointing back at us.

What does the law consider an adult? Isn’t it 18 in most states and 19 in others. Federal level is what 18 because you can vote. But don’t they try people for crimes as adults that are younger. So that part is confusing for me. Which is normal as I’m confused all the time.

Most 18 years olds are immature but are considered adults. You can’t deny them that

It’s a team effort around here. I redshirted, so we are basically on the same level.

Sweet summer child.

I hope if you ever get married, you don’t bring this tractor trailer load of insecurity into it.

The real world is going to come at you too fast.

I realize that the words are heated (even though I’m sure everyone is nonplussed and chill), but let’s consider the HARD generation gap that has sprung up between those of over thirty who met our spouses out in the real world and regularly had opportunities to get to know women and the under-thirties living in the dating app world where most guys have to get matched before they can get dates before they can have any hope of having relationships. To those living in the dating app world, a girl going out of her way to be friends just doesn’t happen unless she’s open to a whole more.

Honestly this is really a good point. Probably why both sides really just don't understand each others points whatsoever.

It really is a different time imo

I was being serious. You have to be comfortable with yourself before you should take a serious step towards commitment. If the idea of cross gender friendships makes you uncomfortable, the real world is going to be very difficult. Not to mention managing the ever changing dynamics of a marriage.

My daughter just turned 14. She’s had plenty of boys that want to “date” her. I’ve had plenty of talks about focusing on being friends, finding out about yourself, your likes/dislikes and who you are before getting too wrapped up in another person and just enjoying life with people you appreciate.

Maybe I don’t grasp how much dating apps have replaced the entirety of social interaction to the end that “swipe” means “smash” and there’s no middle ground. But if that’s the case, we are done.
