This isn't the 80s.

Just buy Scoots best Rookies when they come up

Before anyone asks, Yes I have a lot of them. Of course I do, would be crazy not to. Still, I think it has a chance to be his best card and if he's special a pretty landmark NBA card.

Any thoughts? Or am I looking too deep into this one?

I'd just like to buck the trend here and suggest that this is Scoots best card. Gold, Unbranded hoodie, #'d to /199 (crazy rare!!!!!) and prominently feature pink airpod max (on trend!!!).

For everyone else, here's a bit of context if you are willing to read and apologies on the cross sport reference. The Acuna Sapphire card started out at about 100-120 a few years ago. Posted about it on BO and explained what I was seeing for the long run on the card. Card started to go up and hit a pre-pandemic (this is important to me) high of $3050 for a PSA 10 and $2494.69 for a Raw in December 2019 (13 months after the it was released, again pre-pandemic movement). Khal apparently sold his to another BO member in December 2018 (when the comps were at $323 & $378). The card actually didn't go up much during the pandemic and is still holding strong in the $3500-4500 range for PSA 10's.

I professionally give sports card advice and have done it for a quite a while. I'm no Geoff Wilson that's for sure, as I'm sure none of you have really heard of me (that means I'm actually doing my job right). I actually work quite hard to do it a different way. Anyway, the reason I shared the Acuna Sapphire a few years ago is the same reason I decided to do this Scoot also. I believe if you are good at things you should share once in a while so more people can win in the long run and we'll have a stronger collecting base in the future. I have not posted about this card anywhere else and BO has a special place in my heart so wanted to share it here. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've posted in this manner about a specific sportscard since the Acuna Sapphire (or maybe the Mbappe Topps Chrome). Anyway, hope some of you find this info useful and hopefully see the long term angle on it. I know Instant sucks (thanks everyone for hammering that home) but this one is a bit different.

Anyway, I'll spare everyone any more thoughts on this one and this will be my last post in this thread for a bit. I don't care much about what people think in the short term. Very interested to revisit this thread again, in particular in 12-18 months if Scoot does as I anticipate. Btw, absolutely LOVE Scoot.
Idk what any of this has to do with baseball but you're in a thread full of basketball collectors telling you this isn't desirable.

People have given you plenty of reasons why this isn't going to be a desirable card but you're deadset on it being a "thing"

1) Nobody cares about Panini Instant
2) Nobody cares about non-NBA jersey "RCs" (especially for a guy who's not an all time prospect)
3) The card itself is boring and ugly
4) The overall market is declining and will continue to decline for the foreseeable future

If you want to buy these at $120 thinking there's going to be some huge boom despite him having real RCs coming out in the next year, that's fine, it's your money anyways.

I can tell you with 99.99% certainty this will never be a thousand dollar card like whatever you're quoting with the Acuna. Unless we have another pandemic and uncle sam is dropping money out of helicopters again I guess

Lol, I'm not saying that the card will be a thousand dollar card. That's clearly a fools errand to make any prediction like that. Fwiw, I simply stated that the Acuna Sapphire should be much closer to a 250-300 card when it first came out and that was the inefficiency I was seeing and it was clearly a unique card with even higher upside. I simply thought Mbappe 2017 Chromes should be more than his 2018 Prizms, it was from the first Chrome Soccer set ever made. All extremely reasonable predictions. I am not strictly a Baseball/Soccer guy I've actually done a lot of my work through Basketball.

Very simply, I think this Scoot is as rare as it gets as far as Basketball XRC's are concerned (It's an actual NBA Card!) and I think it has a chance to be his best value buy available now and in the near future. If a Scoot collector wants to instead load up on 5-10 copies of his Prizm PSA 10 at 50-70 each, go for it If you're going after Scoot and he's your guy, I have no idea why you wouldn't want his 2021 NBA card. It's pretty simple.

Yep, this is the one to collect. Also a Paul Tagliabue, Santa Claus, and William Perry Short-Print card to go along with it.

Why this one instead of his 2022 card that is 1 of 545 and looks better (no Clorox logo)?

I was a fan of on-demand stuff like Now/Instant when they first came out. Lots of potential. Sadly, it's been a let down.

There was a huge opportunity to capture special moments, cool photos, and get RCs of players who would otherwise have nothing, especially the guys that get called up at the end of the season when most sets are already completed.

I also thought there would be a cool niche for people who actually attended games to pick these up to serve as souvenirs of games they attended like the first game you took your kid to.

Unfortunately, it's just become a missed opportunity at this point.

Honestly, i think that's really their only real selling point.

Looking for a price check on this Scoot.

Sporting a healthy 36% FG% halfway through the season. That’s stuff of legends.
