renewed. i had $70 in credit from a topps now auto refund (2021 tim anderson playoff auto that still hasn't shipped) so just $95 out the door in new money.
disappointed the finest flashbacks isn't on the list, and the elimination of the lone set we got. hoping for the best though! |

Still can't find a reason to renew when I didn't buy anything last year. The days of Topps giving us those great bonuses have been over since Fanatics took over.

I figured if they just do one wacky thing (offer us one HOT product, send a bonus auto card for being members) it'll be worth it.
Imagine, for instance, if they put 5 random Montgomery Club stamped foilboard cards numbered to 2 or 3 in each complete set or something, the complete sets would be a monster chase for people. There's a lot they could do if they chose to reward club members. |

Unfortunately, they appear to have no interest in satisfying customers. |

What's likely to happen is they will give access to all the drops that won't sell like last year. |

The card producers' business model is entirely based on wishes/dreams/hopes (...so there is a chance I can get...) lol. As long as there's dreamers out there, the card manufacturers will make their money. At the renewal price, most dreamers will jump on it as compared to other current product prices, the 150 seems like a small drop in the bucket for that "chance" of something good to justify the cost.

I renewed so that I have a thread to voice my complaints about what is offered by the program
Also for the set and other stuff. |

I've thought more about it and I am still not renewing. I just don't see the point.

I just can't renew again when I'm ripping virtually everything I buy, and nowadays I don't even want to buy at current prices.
It definitely doesn't feel like a collector's club anymore and more like a reseller's club. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not my thing. Time for me to move on, leaves more room for newbies wanting in.

Really wish Fanatics would have done away with the early access to products and brought back the smaller sets. The exclusive sets are what MC was all about, at least for me. Now, as said above, it's just a reseller's club.

It’s more like Sam’s Club than a country club.

https://www.topps.com/fjwneoirthuieo...glsekjfd.html? MC members should have an email in the email address they registered their MC account under as well, but some people may have not enabled promo emails from Topps or the email might be in the "promotion" folder of their gmail account. |

Not sure why people sell the set for $50 where they make 10s of thousands of all other complete sets... If there are less than 1,000 members, there is only 1,000 sets out there...
Hold for the long term and sell for a few hundred dollars in a few years.. |

You knew what products were being offered, decided to subscribe and then didn’t buy any of the said products?? I guess in that case I wouldn’t renew either. That said if they do offer bowman draft sapphire that will practically pay for the membership itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by BRob1; 01-19-2024 at 03:07 AM. |

I renewed my membership. With the complete set plus the discounts on releases for members you make the $150 back pretty fast in value alone, even if you just like to rip. If you buy and hold/sell even a couple of releases that end up in more demand after public release, you can sell some for enough profit to make up the difference. Plus, I love Brooklyn, and the discount there was like $30 per box x 2 just for that. I also love the Star Wars Chrome even though demand isn’t quite as high for that…I like the $20 per box discount. Cosmic Chrome is another that, despite higher initial cost, was very popular and price went up pretty significantly shortly after sellout. Those were $249 and sell now for $350-$390 each. I ripped mine, but got enough value even with a few cards to cover the MC cost.

It's likely that there are at lest 10,000 members currently so these, while rarer than the normal sets, have a high enough print run to prevent any serious gains.

You are also assuming they won't raise the price on Draft Sapphire which they most certainly will. |
