Hope that they extend this out longer than 1 month, of course volume will dictate that.

But if they do switch it up, Nat, throw the people a bone and run a jumbo special. Haven't seen one of those in a while, and my jumbo cards need protection from the elements.

I had about 1000 cards sitting in my grading stack for a year or 2.... went through them and only about 200ish are still worth grading. COMC getting a pile of low end inserts of Luka, Lebron, Trout, and various base and color RCs.

Wow no posts in 2 weeks on here haha. So let me clarify something - for this $15 special, do I just have to:

1. Submit/print the submission form by the last day of January?
2. Ship the cards off by the last day of January?
3. PSA needs to receive the cards from the last day of January?

From memory, I think it's #1 and maybe you have like a week to ship it from then but want to confirm.

Im seeing scattered reports of Jan special subs already on their way back, they may not have gotten as overwhelmed as they anticipated.

1. Form must be complete by end of day on 1/31.

2 & 3. You have 30 days from submitting the form until the date that it must arrive at PSA. The date will be at the top of the submission form when you print it. Probably will need to arrive by 2/29 if printed on 1/31 but could be 3/1. Not sure how it works in a month with fewer than 30 days.

Both these orders sent 1/4 are still in USPS limbo with one sitting in Texas for the last 8 days and the other in California with no update for 10 days. I’ve also had 4 larger eBay sales with item not received claims as they are sitting in post offices across the country without updates. I used to refresh my order status on the PSA site but now it’s hitting refresh on tracking numbers. Not happy.

They've done a few modern sports specials recently. I'm doing one order of 20 and I'm debating even sending it out after I complete the form. I really need some modern non-sports specials. Hopefully, that's next.

maybe a dumb question but this is my first large submission since getting psa membership
the declared value is purely for insurance reasons correct?

Yes, what would PSA pay you for the card if it was lost or destroyed.

That is correct. I typically will just put the value based on the lower grade range of the card. If I think it can get an 8 or 9, I will declare the 8 value and let them upcharge me if it gets the 9.

Shipping rates don't change based on your declared values. It's not like changing the declared value from $80 up to $199 will increase shipping back to you.

Got it. with SGC it added more due to insurance costs.

Shipping rates from PSA do change based on your declared values, but the ranges are very large, so you may not see a change if you adjust up or down slightly.

Rates are here: https://www.psacard.com/submissions/postage

I have suggested before to maximize the declared value within the range where your order tends to fall.

If your total DV is well below $5,000 on a large order, I would go back and bump everything up a little, assuming you haven't declared the maximum already.

And if your total DV is just over, let's say $5400, I would to back through and lower a few to get back down $5,000 to save $8 on return shipping.

If you're submitting any "cheap" cards, like base rookie cards, even though they might be $3 each to buy raw, if you have to buy 10 of them to find one that looks like it might gem, the DV for that one card should be at least $30. Replacement cost of a gem-worthy $3 raw card isn't $3.

Hope that helps.

Came here to ask the same question about qualifying for the January special.
Wasn't sure if submitting the form today will make the cut (because it might not arrive to PSA by end of Jan), but guess I don't have to worry about that.
Thanks for the infos.

Any guesses on what the February 2024 special will be?

I would love for them to bring back the quarterly specials. I used to have fun with those.

There is also a February MLB Special for $15.99. Doesn't specify any years so maybe it's all years?

Just got my membership to PSA (1st time doing it) and did the New Year Special that was extended. Debated doing the MLB one since all mine were baseball, but not sure any of the cards would exceed that $250 value (maybe 1 or 2 could).

I have submitted through group submitters but decided to do it on my own due to the price/specials they have, plus the last time I sent it in for January, they literally just got to the grader on Friday of last week. They dragged their feet and that put me over the edge to just do it myself.

I'm hoping the MLB special includes Vintage cards. I have stacks ready to go. Thanks for the update!

Why would you ever send something out on the 31st unless it was a special for that month that was ending??? Come on now, you've been in the business long enough to know better
