See to me, that's theft. You reach in a guys wallet, pull out 295, and stick 3 bucks left over in his shorts. That will get your ass kicked in the 'hood I live in.

The initial comment was how long it was taking support to get back, didn't even get a reply email at first.

I also had a little bet with myself, that after I posted the numbersCOMC guy would show up, make some asinine comment, and be treated to a follow up comment. So Kufndos to you.

He didn't have to reach in your wallet. You left it open and with the money hanging out the side. I am guessing if you really live in a hood (which seeing as you are doing mostly hockey, that is suspect), you ain't seeing that money ever again. And if you are stupid enough to try to get it back you will be dealt with by many of the "thief's" friends. You are barking up the wrong tree here. You got lucky that COMC didn't just say "Take care of your business better next time." It was YOUR fault. In the real world, you are not getting the card back, nor the sympathy you so desperately want.

I received a gem of an email from a support rep that I had not seen before about a correction request from three weeks ago not being successful, stating. "please remember that correction requests are only to be used for identification issues."

I sternly corrected them (in a professional way), reminding them that there is an option to request a correction for condition. I told them I have consistently had countless new cards taken out of packs, put straight in a sleeve and untouched before shipping, get an ex-nm or even a good-vg ex label. The ratio seems to be even higher on reflective cards such as prizms.

If I send 1000-1500 cards, I will get about 200 flagged, request correction on about 40 percent of them, and have over half of them get corrected. This means that 40-50 cards that I know of are not correctly graded on each shipment and that I would be losing money if I did not request to correct them.

If they want us to trust the process, make it more trustworthy.

Has anyone ever had a COMC rep try to tell them that?

They almost never fix the ones I submit through the item menu. I now just eat the 50 cents and have them mailed back to me for posting on eBay. Like this one: 184830169. It's the Gold version /50 but only an astute observer would find it. I bet a lot of sellers get hosed when not catching those.

COMC terms of service actually very clearly defend "pricing errors" - Obviously it is a blurry line but not sure why you're giving the guy a hard time

" We're all human and pricing mistakes can occur. If you discover a pricing typo on an item that sells within 3 hours of listing, contact us with your intended asking price within 24 hours of the sale and we will determine at our discretion if the transaction requires reversal. Please exercise reasonable caution in all purchases and sales. Sellers are limited to one Pricing Error Protection request per month. "

Had my second A&G rip card show up already ripped. It was not listed as ripped and cost me $80. Sent them an email over a week ago, and they said they would get back to me. Sent them a follow up yesterday, and still haven't heard back.

Did you miss where he said that he hopes the buyer of the card loses money as a result of buying his mispriced card? That’s why I’m giving him a hard time.

How are submission times looking? I'm going to send around 100 ~$10 cards and am thinking I should pay the $1/card level for "2 weeks" as opposed to $0.50 per card for "16 weeks" but was wondering how close to those times they are running as of late.

I submitted 1200 cards in the beginning of December and almost all of them are listed. The first ones started listing the week after Christmas. Assuming no recent change since then, 1-2 months is the turnaround. Easily worth the extra few weeks for the lower listing price for me.

Cool- yeah that sounds a lot better than 16 weeks. Thanks for the info.

They recently offered some large sellers (me included) some special deal where you could submit 10,000 or more items in bulk for 35 cent processing. Yesterday I received a phone call indicating that they extended the deadline for this by a few days and would pick up cards at the upcoming Berkeley Card Show if I happened to be in the area with 10,000 or more cards.

I think this probably indicates:

1) They do have excess capacity for processing
2) They aren't going to have a 35 cent special for the general public anytime soon.

From a cost-benefit perspective, unless the cards are really time-sensitive, I don't think it's probably worth it to pay 50c extra per card for faster processing when a good chunk of those cards are going to be processed relatively quickly. Probably not 2 weeks, but probably not 4 months either. Even then, you can always send in 2 batches in the same package: one where you really really want to get 2 week processing (example you want it in your port during Spring Training or March Madness), and one where you'll take your chances on it being in your port sometime around mid-June.

My select order that arrived last friday is already at 100% - so I'm guessing they've had a slowdown recently

COMC has another PSA special with "faster turn around times".

That's gotta be a joke right? I'm still waiting on cards from November with a "45 day turn around"

Just started using COMC to buy for the first time. And I've got a question to see if this is how things normally work.

I found a card I wanted. Seller had it listed at $2.25. I made an offer of $2.10. Seller raised his price on COMC to $2.50 then countered at $2.45. Is it common for sellers to raise prices after you send an offer?

The card is of a guy that played 8 MLB games back in 2016, so no one has ever heard of him. So it's not like it's a hot card. It's probably a card he's had since 2011 when it came out.

So I"m just curious if that's the way eBay works. Seems kind of crappy business ethics. There's 2 others on COMC for less than his new asking. So I am going to decline the offer and buy another. I know it's only a quarter difference, but it's the principal.

I find generally that this is NOT how it works, but there are 1 or 2 sellers that I know of that seem to do this. I will never understand that tactic, as I've had one seller (joelshitshow) raise the price on a card like this on me. I still check it from time to time and there it is listed at the slightly higher price 2 years later. I hope it was worth missing out on the sale!

I wouldn't let this discourage you. Usually not the case.

Every day my expected ship date on my order gets pushed back another day. It's been 14 days from now for about 2 weeks...

Definitely not how it usually works. Most sellers will accept any fair offers. Or at least counter-offer with a price under their listing price.

The few dumb-dumbs who raise their price after getting an offer are a minority. Just steer clear of any sellers who do that - not worth dealing with them.
