Looks like the Cowboys are once again very interested in the talent at Ann Arbor.

Formal interviews with both LB Junior Colson and DT Kris Jenkins.

Anyone got any scouting reports on these guys?

Both excellent players. Jenkins is son of former NFL player Chris Jenkins. Would predict Week 1 starting roles for both.

Interesting remarks by Saban on the issues surrounding the management of a team assembled of NIL superstars.

I don't disagree for the moment but this is not a sustainable way forward.

Saban will come across as old guy yelling at cloud for some, but I agree with everything he says. I read an article responding to Saban basically stating that he quit because all these changes take away his recruiting advantage and he is hypocrite because he had raises as the head coach. Both are dumb rebuttals to me.

I haven't seen any good data on it. I still feel NIL only made the big programs stronger. I don't think it "levels the playing field" like it was touted to. That was just for marketing and getting everybody on board. OSU's NIL budget is probably bigger than Purdue, Indiana, and Northwestern combined. You may even throw Maryland in there as well. If by chance, one of the schools overpays for a 5 star freshman. That player will bolt to OSU for is Junior year and get his draft stock up. Some of these kids are learning to game the system.

All of this is fun if you are a fan of the top 25-30 blue blood programs. The rest of us are just fodder for the those schools. With the soon to be 16 game playoff, those blue bloods will have a 50% or so chance of making the post season. The only last step is for them to branch of into their own league. The minor league football setup will be complete.

For football specifically, I wouldn't be surprised if OSU is paying out more NIL next year than the entire current 14-team B1G including Michigan, PSU, MSU combined (excluding USC, Oregon, UCLA, Wash, etc.). The other schools have been too slow or too cautious to adapt (yes, specifically thinking about Michigan here).

I absolutely agree… don’t get me wrong

But for now? My post is also accurate

Most teams are just playing for fun until there are NIL guidelines

Raises the interesting question about who is going to make those rules given the state of the NCAA

That’s easy

The B10 and the SEC

None of the other teams matter

It’s whatever those 2 want to happen

What pay-for-play has done to CFB has been quite something to behold.

Did he get the bag? I don't go in the AnilOSU hype thread, so I don't know.

Ohio State should never punt based on what our roster currently costs

I think we will look back and appreciate the 2023 natty more because of this. College football is being ruined, and the ncaa doesn’t seem concerned. If they don’t get things under control, and soon, it’s going to ruin what we know as college football.

I think the NCAA is terminal at this point at least for CFB.

The NCAA as an organization is being phased out. They try to set rules, the courts smack them down. They try to enforce rules, the courts smack them down.

There really is no way for the NCAA to regain control.
