Side note: I wasn't around during the 2020 release. What happened with singles prices once the set was dropped on Epack? I'd really like a Cap Artist Auto /10 and the base /99 and want to see what the market does when this set goes live on epack. |

Generally, I think people expect singles prices to come down with epack since it floods the product onto COMC. A Cap artist auto /10 (or /20 if it doesnt matter whether variant or not) might be that rare/expensive that it doesnt really matter as much. It's expensive now, and it'll be expensive later. Something like the true base /99 I do think could fall in price a bit once more of them start hitting the market. Other things to expect deflating in price are cards like red and blue canvas gallery, mirage, speckle holofoil, higher number BSGs. I think in general there will be a come down in price (but prices at this moment are down a good chunk, being so far out from release, interest waning a bit, and in a lull right now, not to mention market as a whole is down...so maybe the come down wont be as drastic as has been with some other releases).

I was a pmg and jambalaya collector last 5 years
But I have got into masterpieces the last 2 releases. And have now bought singles to older releases I think the 2022 masterpieces is the best by far. I believe value will hold and eventually rise because how amazing the art is Market is down on everything. Which I think is nice. Lots of amazing art and deals imo |

Has this been the longest wait time for an ePack release of a Marvel Masterpieces product? Seems kind of strange. There must be a strategic reason for why UD is waiting so long -- maybe they're waiting for physical boxes to sell out first?

I thought it was gonna hit this month in Feb. That was the timeline with 2020MM, which also came out physically Aug-Sept the year before if I recall. That’s looking more unlikely now. I’d be curious if anyone has a better idea when this will finally drop. It really is taking a long time compared to some other marvel sets like metal universe.

UD probably wants people to buy some of the other crap first.

The product manager of UD marvel was on a podcast and said preliminarily it would be around February. He mentioned other releases needed to drop on epack first. What if was the last marvel release before masterpieces I believe. So next month, March, makes the most sense to me. I would imagine they’re trying their best not to flood an oversaturated niche market but at this point, they’ve shot themselves in the foot. Masterpieces is going to sell, premier is going to sell. It’s all the other crap, I bet, they’re trying to figure out how will sell after those 2 releases. |

Finally completed by base "frankenstein" set with Tier 4 Epic Purples (my OCD is killing me: the last card is ###/199, usually I get Tier 4 Epic Purples numbered at ##/199).

Congrats! What an awesome set to put together. I have been patiently waiting for epack, so I can finally complete a set. Sure is taking a long time.

All that money and the room looks like it was decorated by a 14 year old boy.

Pheww...that's an astounding collection, easily most marvel card OA's I've seen in one place. It's like a museum. I recognize many that came up for sale on ComicLink, guess thats where they go. Not only would that take a lot of money, but also probably have to be in inner circles with some of these artists I imagine...like that MM22 original art expo DDS did for a few collectors. Just look at all those MM22 paintings.
I have a grand total of one OA, a 94MM Hildebrandt, and only because I bought it before the market took off. Im not a player in the OA scene because prices are prohibitive...but I gotta say OA is basically the top of the top of anything in the hobby. To me it beats red spectrums, green PMGs, gold PMGs, seismic cosmic orange wave refractors (or whatever they call things in new sets), or the highest end sketches. Nothing beats the iconic artwork itself for a published card in a classic set. Interestingly the market, at least during the pandemic, largely disagrees with my stance on that, as green PMG spidermans were far outselling any marvel card painting in price. But yea what a collection. Paintings are basically the '1/1 superfractors' of the super-mass produced 90s era that had no limited numbered parallels.
