Yeah, the plays are nearly impossible for Larkin. But the hunt is the best part.

Posted this in the Griffey thread, but thought I’d share over here as well. This card was my somewhat realistic grail card. Essential Credentials and Crusades aren’t purchased on a teacher salary haha.

Amazing cards. Is there any way to quantify how many there might be? Looks like 249 in the PSA pop report (along with ONE single PSA 10 - how big of a house do you think that would buy you???).

Gotta think that, even though its a tiny fraction of the overall print run, there's probably a ton more of them that are never going to see the light of day.

The estimation is anywhere from 250-500 made it out into packs. I used to buy 90 wax boxes for 10 dollars hoping to pull one. Now those boxes are 30-40 so not worth it. ( I would give away most of the cards)

Awesome stuff everyone. So jealous of the 99 BB Gold Refractors Piazza, NNOF, the gold background in the Power Alley Die Griffey, the 99 Star Rubies Canseco, the 97 Credentials Larkin. Need all those, whether they come in a Bonds or not.

Love seeing my old friends the Raves and Epix.

Also the Record Breakers Griffey and Score Klesko auto. So many cool cards from the era.

Ray Lankford Credentials - all of them.

Quick(ish) story behind these - after I bought my NNOF I told myself I was done buying for the year unless I found a Frank to finish a rainbow for a deal or if one of my top 5 Lankford grails popped up. In the span of two months around buying the NNOF FOUR of my top 5 Lankford grails were offered to me. I still can't believe it. I passed on the 24kt to another huge Ray collector who has been looking for one since it came out, but I could not pass up on the 2 98 Credentials and a 96 Mirror Gold. This is a run I'll never finish for Frank, so completing the next best thing feels good.
