What happens to the ball?
Does the home team send it to the visiting dug-out? MLB acquires a prime certifiable GU item? Stadium staff just randomly flip it back to fans sitting near the rail? |

Probably some combination of all of the above. I know the Orioles will often have charity auctions on their website with game used balls.

Guessing half of them are switched out before throwing them back on the field. I've seen clowns doing that while I was in the bleachers at Wrigley.
If you are going for the glory of throwing it back, don't be a d-bag and switch it out, man up! |
