I realized how much I liked the 1999 Essential Credential Nows when I picked up a Canseco earlier this year.

I of kind of got FOMO especially with the Clemens as he’s 02/18, Mussina is 14/31.

Those ‘99 Essential Cred Nows are gorgeous. ‘98s get most of the love but might have to pick up a ‘99 at some point. Does anyone ever see any Essential Credentials out in the wild (ie shows or lcs)?

I saw a few 97s, 98s and a 99 at the National. A guy at trade night had a few 1997 Credentials available. Someone was doing a deal for the Maddux as I walked up.

Not the rarest, but not that common in higher grades. I hadn’t had one of these in hand in years and am surprised how much more I like the Pacific EO Portraits than these. Still a fun card, but odd that it looks much better from the back.

Would like to trade this and a few cards or some cash for a PSA 8 or better copy.

So common there is not much market, or uncommon enough to have less than 20 on the PSA Pop Report?

I don't think there is a lot of market for them. They were in factory sets in a 3 card pack for each player. I collect Larkin and there are a bunch on ebay right now. I can get an unopened 3 card pack for $30, and it just sits there. I imagine they printed a ton of factory sets in 1994.

I love this thread. It's great to see everyone's pick ups.

I recently added another Erstad PMG.

How was the numbering decided for essential credientials? The now/future are different for players.

The 1998 Essential Credentials Future is numbered to 101 minus the card number. Essential Credentials Now is numbered to the card number.

This came in the mail yesterday. I'm slowly but surely making progress on my Larkin Legacy run.
