During Hobby Legends’ 40 case break on release day the breaker said they get most of their cases from BO. After the 40 caser, they have done 2 20 casers, a few 10 casers, and several 3-5 case breaks. I believe BO still gets a large amount but there are breakers that are willing to pay much more than H would to break through BO’s forums. This is likely the reason that Irish is the only one that still breaks on here and his nonsports breaks are way less common than in the past. Remember, the last big break that H tried to do didn’t go forward because the final bids didn’t come close to where he needed to be. It’s easier for Ebay breakers to maximize spot sales than they could ever do through a forum like this. Because of this, they can and will pay more.

Their customer service is absolute dogshit. Going on 8 weeks trying to get sales tax refunded after providing them valid exemption, just the same canned email response of some offline team is handling it

I go on there every day just to take a look and only did one break to use up some promotional credit I was given. The process and hassle of it was a huge turnoff to me. The one break I did do, the breaker discounted a ton of spots so people who bought early, got screwed. Just didn’t sit right with me so it was one and done. I’ll watch new products get broken just to see what the average box is like, and shockingly, it’s usually awful.

Where does this person break? I’d love to follow to get into the larger breaks. I miss the 100 caser!

Hope there will be the next person (I don't like saying next Houdini because there's only and one Houdini) to break Bowman & Transcendent cases for all of us. I highly doubt it.
I also enjoyed his breaks, last two I did was the 100 case Heritage and Topps
100 caser break last year. I always enjoyed waking up to see what he pulled me in the late night breaking. He will be missed

Houdini's breaks were always reasonably priced and fun (great personality for a breaker).

Sad news.

They run auctions through eBay only. I hear that they were on Fanatics Live at one point but left. They will probably have a 50-caser for 2025 Bowman.

If you want to check it out, just wait/look around for a break credit. When I did PSA this past year, it came with a $150 Fanatics Live credit, for example.

Houdini played such a huge part in me getting back into cards. I don't even remember how, but I found my way to his old, pre-blowout site and watched some breaks. Soon after he started breaking here and I started joining.

Back in like 2012 until, well, I guess 2020ish, breaks were affordable and fun. You could get a random team in a full case for a very affordable price (depending on the product).

I worked long hours at the time and sometimes I'd get home late, come to Blowout to see what late breaks houdini was running, join one or two and watch while laying in bed before falling asleep.

Sigh. All good things.

I can’t tell if this thread is some weird kind of Stockholm Syndrome thing or not. Aren’t all breakers supposed to be scumbags and the death of the hobby?

Yeah, same here. The Giants Buster Posey and the Dodgers Yasiel Puig catapulted me back into the hobby. My first break was on this site. I remember I selected an SP Rookie Auto in a 10 or 20 caser in a Top 10 spot and more seasoned members busted my balls for it. Fortunately I ended up with another Top spot in a 50 or 100 caser and still have about 500 Yasiel Puig Chrome rookie cards. Haha, good times.

Well he did get outed over 10 years ago. When people started to grab their pitchforks on here, the forum rules were conveniently changed and everything was swept under the rug.

I always liked his Wal-Mart videos where he'd troll the YouTube community.

Houdini was an all time great breaker. I used him exclusively for years. Refuse to use anybody else. Hope he comes back.
