A reminder to everyone pumping insane money into Yamal, Doue et all.
Just takes one injury. Nothing. NOTHING will ever surpass Sidney Raebiger though. People had never heard of him, never seen him... and were dropping $10k+ on his RC. Utter madness. Since then - 77 minutes of football in three years, and training with clubs fourth division reserves. |

Looks like Petrovic is leaving Chelsea to go to Sunderland.

Ansu Fati has to be one of the more well known busts in the sport at this point no?
That's no hate on the kid. But relative to his expectations, etc. this is a major fall off. |

Nothing screams “preparing for relegation and coming straight back up again” than signing Josh Sargent.. lovely player, but not a Premier League player. We’ve been linked with Muniz at Fulham and Beto at Everton.
Slim pickings. Ugh. |

Likewise, Leeds would be wise to spend carefully....it's not like they can afford a proven EPL striker. And they've already suffered through a period where over-spending got them in huge financial and administrative trouble (in the mid-2000s). |

Four players in for a combined £35m. Bijol and Gudmundsson both astute signings, and two steady back-up players in Nmecha and Bournauw from Wolfsburg. Hopefully we get Sean Longstaff over the line from your lot. |

He'd be a great addition for you guys.
The flip side is that with the additional ten Champions League matches this year, I'm not sure Newcastle can afford to sell him, since that would leave them with only five midfielders, two of whom are very injury-prone (Willock & Joelinton). And if you're going to have to buy somebody new (and presumably more expensive) to replace him, then it may make more financial sense to keep him even if it means he leaves on a free next summer. Ten million may not be enough to move the financial needle in that respect. |

Interesting Morgan Gibbs-White story today, as his nearly sealed move to Spurs is now being delayed (and could end up being off) due to claimed illegalities in the approach by Spurs. Forest have filed a complaint with the FA.

Elanga from Nottingham Forest to Newcastle now official.
Happy we got him.....but it's really bad for football to see all the mid-table clubs who made last season so exciting (Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest, etc.) selling their best players to bigger clubs. |

Anton Stach - £20m -----------------> Leeds United
ranked in the top 5 midfielders in the Bundesliga last season, so this one will be interesting. |

Rashford to Barcelona (in talks) feels like someone winning a competition on the back of a box of Corn Flakes.

Isak officially tells Newcastle he wants out apparently. A real shame IMO. They won a trophy and are in the Champions League. Speaks to the modern player mentality

The top strikers in the world are all on approximately 500K a week. But they're all at "big" clubs that are in the Champions League every year (i.e. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man City, PSG, etc.) Isak asked for a raise to 300K a week (pretty reasonable in the abstract). But Newcastle don't have the revenues to support that level of wages, since if they give Isak a raise, many of their other top players (Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton, Gordon, etc.) will also ask for increased wages. And because of PSR, they can't afford that. Champions League revenue means that the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa, Forest, etc.....all big regional clubs....will never be able to generate the revenues needed to move up, and will always be hamstrung by PSR. It's not all that different that how the big regional German clubs ( Dortmund/Leverkusen/Leipzig/Frankfurt, etc.) are always having to sell their best players to either Bayern Munich or EPL clubs. |
