Those reasons are why I am increasing my numbers of CGC submissions! I know all about the PSA 10 tax, but beyond that, the prices are very similar go 9’s.

Message comc and tell them they will answer saying "we haven't got them back from the grader" then the cards mysteriously show up and upload to your account within 24 hours. Seriously I've done this 3 times and its always made them appear in my account. Seems they slack on uploading until you say something

You cannot blame CGC ONCE the cards leave their possession. I have used express twice, both times sending them myself, and they hit their TAT both times.

I feel you! It is like my using PCSPORTSCARDS for my grade to consignment through PSA. PSA is the reason cards don’t get back to them in a timely manner. I am building a vintage submission to send to CGC. My last 2 PSA vintage orders were crushed. All of the cards came from 1st edition rips of Tezm Rocket that I went 37/50 before their standards changed. Did not get a single 10 in a 30 card order with the same quality of cards.

Damn thats brutal!. I use comc to grade because im in canada and we cant send directly ourselves right now due to tarriffs. Even trying to send my cards back to myself with comc they want 4000$ shipping for duty and tarrifs which is just insane. The same card value before tarrifs to get shipped back was 600$ shipping, which even then is so insane.

I've only ever submitted one card to CGC just to check them out. Their cases are easily the clearest I've ever seen. That was good enough for me. I took advantage of the special and sent in 81 cards.

Service level: Bulk
Cards: 81 Cards

Order Shipped: 8/22/2025 (USPS Priority)
Postal Delivery: 8/25/25
CGC Logged:
Scheduled For Grading:
Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging:
Grading / Quality Control:
Finalized / Imaged / Shipped:
Deadline: est 65 days = 11/2/25

Good luck!! Is your estimate business days? I calculate that as Nov 25. It will take CGC about two weeks to log the order and start the clock. I would expect your cards mid/early December if they are moving through orders. If they received a big influx from the special. Expect after the holidays. Hope I am wrong. I was going to send in an order last week with the discount code. I am dealing with some repair issues that I need to sort out before dumping a grading order on my credit card.

The special was a great deal and will get them more cards. I think for TAT and if you normally use PSA, the economy/standard $17/$45 is the way I am going. Bulk is priced right, but the TAT is around PSA levels. I am enjoying their climb in acceptance by the hobby. They had some issues early on, but are solid. Only a PSA only person would say they do not have the best looking slabs.

I regret going bulk for my sports order... Saved me $60, but cost me 35 more business days

Same here. I didn't may attention to TAT before sending mine off. Then I went and looked a few days later. DOH!

My post stated that was why bulk is not a good way to go. For any big pulls that are clean for possible pristine grades I will use standard or express.

I really hope they start to become accepted in the sports card world. They are already passed the corpse of Beckett. I think for ultra modern, you could argue they are getting close to SGC. They need to start getting some big cards in their holders to show off. Vintage will still be a tough hill to climb. There are a lot of SGC collectors like me who haven't fully jumped into CGC. Some may not until PSA really closes down SGC than it is either PSA or CGC at that point.

You are correct, the constant from the beginning even with their grading foibles, was "Man, that is the best slab in the business".

As do I! My PC is in CSG/CGC slabs and that is because they look the best. People have too much money in PSA slabs and platforms are built around PSA. I hate what PSA did with SGC, even if I did not use them. I don’t even take vendors or people who bad mouth CGC without cause seriously most only have the experiences other people told them. They have made mistakes, as have PSA, but one thing remained “Their slab are top of the food chain. I would rather have a CGC Pristine over a PSA 10!”

Put the big 4 side by side for their look and PSA would be at best 3rd.

Yeah...I kept going back and forth and then was like if I save the $60, I can send in 6 more cards... These were all old cards from my PC. So really no hurry....just anxious and impatient

I understand. Here is my point. Same card style. I prefer the CGC and their older label, but the new one is good.

absolutely...I love the big number vs the small print on PSA. I know BGS also has a big number, but their slab feels clunky.

I am glad CSG got rid of the green label though

but CGS Pristine 10 labels just pop

Absolutely. Most do not remember when BGS was the standard, but they stopped evolving once Dr. Beckett sold. PSA is king, but CGC is a strong number 2, especially in TCG. THEIR sport special likely introduce some only PSA and never PSA people to their slabs. Again! The comparison is not close! Even TAG is a much better slab than PSA, even if I would not use them for other reasons.

Yep, I had to start writing COMC…they basically said it was delayed with CGC, but they did receive it back. Then a full week goes by…still nothing back in my account. (That part doesn’t make sense. Shouldn’t take a week to post back if it’s there…they’re not doing something right). Anyway, had to message them a couple more times, and finally got it back. 6 weeks-ish after I submitted for express…. I put most of the delays on COMC for it, maybe a small bit on CGC’s end as well.

Wait…are you saying you think CGC changes the way they evaluate cards and assign Pristine grades based on the tier level of grading? The actual grading part beyond just the turnaround duration? I hope that is not the case.

I just submitted a large lot direct to CGC. 85 cards, new chrome cards. I went with bulk because it would save $250ish I think doing bulk vs economy. The turnaround time is DRASTICALLY different it seems like between the two, but eh for $250 saved I’m ok with it. But I really hope they are not evaluating them differently based on tier….

Also, I simultaneously subbed a smaller lot for economy. Get this- they got delivered to CGC on a Tues, and two days later it already said “Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging” for the status. Lol don’t think I’ve seen that before. However it is now 4-5 days since that and no grades posted.

I didn't think he meant it like that.
I read it as for bigger pulls, it's worth getting back in the shorter TAT

No! What I am saying is if I have a very clean copy of a card that I think can Pristine that is where I am sending it. Likewise for BGS! Black Label and Pristine Chase.

65 days for bulk is similar to PSA so there is no CGC turnaround time advantage.

The grading encapsulation step is just place holding most times. I have had economy sit there for over a week.

Thanks. I just threw that date in there until they actually log the cards. But it's all good.

Yeah, for 81 cards, it was well worth waiting an extra month.

Gotcha, I thought you were differentiating between bulk and economy/standard specifically in respect to Pristines….just communication thing is all.

I told myself before I was not gonna do CGC bulk again after they were 2 weeks-ish late on my last bulk order, all while I was reading about economy’s getting done quicker than usual. But I just went against that to save $250. I full expect this bulk order to be a very long thing, possibly longer than the estimate.

That makes sense about the placeholder status, I think that’s most likely. No way they’d actually be grading that 2 days after arrival for economy.
