I kind of forgot about my sub since it was seeming it would be well until the Fall until I'd see it. I just checked tonight and it is in Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging pretty pumped based on other Economy subs reported on here.

Awesome. Can’t wait to hear about grades. They have been aggressively

Sorry, I’m not quite sure I understand—do you mean they’ve been grading more aggressively, or that they’ve been processing orders more quickly?

Right after I sent in my 15-card Economy submission, I was a bit bummed to realize I had a few more cards set aside on my shelf that I couldn’t find in time. I’ve always submitted through Bulk, but I’m hoping Economy feels worth the few extra bucks per card in terms of turnaround time.

My submission is about 75% modern hockey, so it would be great to get it back before the season starts. I’ve got a couple cards in there I’m hoping to sell to cover the grading fees.

My bad. Hiring more aggressively to shorten TAT.

Nice on hockey. My Kaprizov collection is almost totally in CGC/CSG

I hope you are right with CGC is working hard to increase capacity. I would love see them get 600/700k a month while keeping the turn around fast. 200k a month in sports cards. Really solidfy that number two spot and become an option for sports card collectors. Capture all that SGC collectors when the plug is pulled.

Sports is so heavily invested in PSA I dont think the average collector will use them, even with them having the better slab. I think they could get to 200,000 in sports, but mindset is everything in this hobby. I would bet 80-90% of vendors do not buy CGC slabs and that is key. Even TCG users only consider PSA relevant. Some of the channels could do themselves a favor by showing CGC pricing. Regularly the Pristine out sells the PSA 20, but the CGC 10 is usually discounted. Anyone who holds the two slabs in-hand could not honesty say PSA is better, especially their new medical grade plastic.

If the hobby treated all the non-subgrade grading companies the same when it came to to grading, CGC would be number one, but we know they are not. When I am selling I use eBay or a couple of people who has all slabs in their showcase.

I remember seeing you on the registry, and you were one of the first sets CGC highlighted a few years ago.

I had great luck pulling two Kapriovs YGs from a lot of nine or ten blasters I bought when the product released. Back then, it was amazing to get around ten blasters for $175 shipped from Dave & Adams.

Indeed. I remember when prices for blasters were reasonable.

It was such an honor for my collection to be highlighted. Of my 105 Kaprizov cards I would say 95 are in CGC/CSG slabs. My YG is in the Green with sub-grades. Personal I think they should have kept the sub-grades. I definitely love the extra information about the card. My jersey numbered 97/99 has a pedigree.

I actually recommended they do First Pristine Pedigree labels.

I just checked the registry and saw your YG—what a fantastic-looking slabbed card! I was always a big fan of the original CSG green flips and their grading scale (sure, GEM mints and Pristines were rare, but isn't that how it should be?). Unfortunately, I ended up crossing over all my Green flip slabs when they switched over to CGC branding with new flip, and while I still love the cards, they just don't have the same aura in the newer flip. If you ever come across a Jordan Binnington YG in the original slab, let me know. I used to have Exclusives and High Gloss in the green but never managed to get a base, which I'd love to add to my collection.

What card out of /99 is this? The Cup RPA /99? If you grade a card and it's the first pristine, does it get labeled that way? That’s definitely a cool idea and adds another level of gamesmanship to grading cards, especially for the base RCs/Young Guns that will get graded frequently.
