I still don't understand the pricing
Yeah pricing is wild when you consider how much is out there.

Approx. 26,475 boxes and 2,647.5 cases.

EBay sales already lower than break even when you account for fees, taxes and shipping. Looks like a "rip if you want" product, paying $10 per card, but nothing there to flip.

I'm going singles only on this one.

Yay I won trying to build my EQL credit. Glad I only ordered 1 box. Also glad I used my account with only 1 loss. I'll probably just crack it myself.

At least there is a possibility however small at either a sketch card or an artist auto (vs. the stupid super hero fake auto in the other product)

I like the look of the cards. The only thing I don't like is there isn't a big chase it seems except for low serial parallels. I was hoping for the cost of the box there should have been more to it or at least a parallel of /75 or lower per box.

I agree with this, the design is pretty neat. Just cant support the price unless some lower numbered stuff was guaranteed.

I ordered 2 boxes because I’m a sucker for anything paying homage to mid 70’s cards. They delivered today and here are the results…

I don't like how most do not appear to be in a '70s style. Blame it on the chromed parallels. Pick a theme and stick with it. The Spider-Woman (and several others) just looks weird having a modern pic stuck on what is supposed to be a vintage set.

These look like lazy custom cards.

The card design looks a little busy.

As nice as shiny cards are....its a bit sickening that they dont use any of their other brand IPs.....everything doesnt have to be chrome, and gazillion refractor of every set insert etc

Topps have so many brands that they could use, give us like Turkey Red, Allen and Ginter, Heritage, High Topps!, list goes on and on....

Because Fanatics bought Topps and decided they could make more money. Fanatics saw that in the Covid days, people were willing to pay more for boxes and figured that could still work today. So they invested in Fanatics Live to promote breaking and brought in their own breakers that would be able to swallow more of this product at higher prices and piece it out in group breaks.

Fanatics wants perceived scarcity of product in the open market - that's why they use EQL to raffle off boxes. If the public can't get product and the quantities are limited, people have to pay more or use the Fanatics Live breakers to get their fix.

Fanatics doesn't want people to be able to buy a bunch of boxes and cases, they want to push the narrative that by going on Fanatics Live and joining their breaks you can get your cards at an affordable price.

Its all business to them, limit supply and raise prices.

haha, all true- and I knew all of that. I meant this product specifically... I can see nothing redeeming about this release.

Opened a box

Cards look great

But for me to open another box it would have to be 150 ish

So probably will never open anymore

Like this year fanatics has done

Finest
Chrome
Sapphire
Mint
Comic hero’s

With these prices I don’t know how they don’t have 10 thousand boxes sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

And they also took all the boxes cases away from the shops distributers and everyday eBay Joe

Now massive majority of all products go through topps.com fanatics blowout Dave adams and fanatics live. So they can control prices …. Shops and eBay guys can’t dump product for lower prices hurting market

Fanatics has ruined this hobby for me. But they are good at what they do. With in a year or 2 they convinced everyone that all boxes should be worth 2-5 times more …. It’s not all breaking. I go to lcs and watch people pay 500-1000-1500 for boxes and instantly lose 90 percent.

Some boxes selling for under $250 on eBay. Plenty listing for around that price.

Race to the bottom.

Agree with everything you say here but opening boxes and losing 90% has been a thing since the stone age. At least the boxes I open.
