CLEARLY, this is nothing more than a exploitative, money-grab, by Craptastics & Bottoms, so as to...milk, the teats, outta' The Wemby Train! Personally speaking, I can't get behind unlicensed product(s), so while it doesn't necessarily impact me, one way or the other, still; it's just so blatantly obvious, what the cronies over @ Craptastics/Bottoms, are doing, here!?! Need to see the back of the cards. I disagree generally with anachronism in cards, such as Panini printing a 2025 Cavaliers Lebron card, but as long as it says ‘2024-25 Panini’ on the back of the card, it isn’t ahistorical. But if Panini printed a Cavaliers Lebron card in 2025 which said ‘2016-17 Panini’ on the back…or made no mention of the year at all…I think that’s unethical bordering on false advertisement.

If these cards say 2025 on the back, no problem with it. If they say 2023-24 but are printed in 2025, it’s beyond misleading and should be taken off the market imo. A pillar of cards is that they are meant to reflect the period in which they are printed. Otherwise rookie cards wouldn’t be any more valuable than a player’s 15th season cards.

Beckett use too have balls and have rules around this. Look at 2001 UD Legends and 2002 Upper Deck inspirations. They use to get XRC designations and there was controversy for them labelling those cards as such as some felt it was released during the same season calendar and should be called RC's.

And now we get 2 seasons between releases and Beckett will happily designate them as RCs.

The backs of the cards do say 2024. We all remember during Covid how long things got delayed before release so maybe that's what happened, but I doubt that was the case here.
Just seems like they saw how popular the WNBA rookie royalty was and thought they should cash in on the Wemby hype just like the Caitlin hype.

Still available on the Topps website even though it's priced below the major distributors (but not by much). This stuff will definitely drop in price after release.

This release did get me wondering: What 2023-24 Topps Bsk products had a "Guaranteed" Wemby auto in every case (chrome, sapphire,....)? I know there were a few but I don't remember. This product may fall into that category but I guess time will tell.
