Nah, that's just the 2025 curl foil parallel.

Yep. I opened my set and about 10 cards were trashed.
Another 10 or so had dinged corners.

These were the first 2 cards pulled from the set. Both damaged and I didn't shed a tear about the Rendon. The rest of the cards are in good shape.

my Martinez card was damaged too...
It was folded and the side was underneath the other cards...
Not sure why people are giving these sets away,
If I had an extra $5000, I'd buy all the sets listed on ebay

Do you think 2025 Bowman Chrome Sapphire is a solid product to hold long term? Trying to decide if I wanna sell now or hold. Seems like prices are starting to drop.

Like everything else, it depends on whether you believe in the rookies and prospects.

IMO not a hold. Price is largely driven by a soon to be 25 year old Cam Schlittler first-who looks to be a solid if unspectacular pitcher, who outperformed his FIP by nearly a run this past season. Like any other season, there's 6-10 International Signees in the auto checklist who could race up the prospect boards, but are perceived as comparatively incredible talents.

In order to have a Jesus Made/Jackson Chourio/Juan Soto-type phenom, you need the international guy to be putting up stats in A ball by age 19. No one put up eye-popping stateside numbers, or has the all around (looking at Rainiel Rodriguez) preternatural five tool talent.

I don't think the prices are going to move too much in either direction in the short term.

I'm a lifelong Yankee fan but pitchers always are a no for me when prospecting. My Cam Schlittler comparison is Tyler Glasnow. How hot are Glasnow's rookies nowadays? Another, somewhat extreme example, how much are Alex Manoah rookies now?
If I happen to get pitcher rookies in a break or collection it's sell, sell, sell, and don't look back. If any pitcher is hot for a moment, get rid of him.

TBF Tyler Glasnow is a much better pitcher than Schlittler. Schlittler benefitted from a lot of good luck this year.

Per Baseball Savant, the only thing Schlittler is dominant in is FB Velocity (95% percentile). Bottom quartile BB%, 39% percentile extension, so velo doesn't play up, as opposed to Glasnow's extension. 47th percentile xERA suggests a league average pitcher. He profiles a lot like pre-arm injury Clarke Schmidt to me.

Not to say that some combination of Cris Rodriguez, Josuar Gonzalez, Elian Pena couldn't conceivably turn into perennial all-stars. Simply that none of these guys have busted the door down to stateside ball in a way that prior generational talents have.

My comment was meant more about how hot is a Glasnow rookie nowadays compared to his first year. Not many are clamoring for his rookie as an investment. Kind of like all the Phil Hughes rookies I had and luckily didn't hold for long.

Savant isn't all that important for pitchers. He is unique in that he has one of the shorter strides I've ever seen for a pitcher, which explains the extension. Might be something that goes towards deception given how different it is. Simply quoting FIP doesn't paint the whole picture either. LOB% likely regresses, and offset some of the FIP luck regression. Schlittler's K% is significantly higher than Schmidt's... which is obvious to anyone who watches the two pitch. If he threw enough innings to qualify, he would've been t-8th in stuff+, sandwiched between Crochet, Skubal, and Zack Wheeler. He has three pitches that are well above average to elite. He does need to improve control, but that might come. Even still, he was a top-20 or so SP as is. And you need to consider his trajectory. His velo is a fairly new development. Going from a 7th round pick that could barely throw 90 to a seeming Gerrit Cole clone (or knockoff) is something.

I wouldn't invest in a pitcher either, but let's frame the justification for the hype in a reasonable way.

A guy I know (NOT Me) just pulled some of these parallels (see the Durant on left) out of a Fanatics exclusive blaster of 25-26 Topps basketball. Packed out in error I assume. Let the games begin…

They should have both options like a lot of streaming services.

Separate club memberships for baseball/basketball/football/UFC/etc...because not everyone wants all sports.

And then give people the option to have an All-Access Monty Club that is priced in such a way to incentivize people to buy the entire bundle.
