"Our cloud provider is currently experiencing technical difficulties. We’ll share an update as soon as more information becomes available."

So it's not even their fault per this.

Complain all you want, but you said you were leaving the site over and over and over again. You are the little boy who cried wolf. Everyone knows the site stinks from time to time, but it’s a nice alternative and always has been.

We pay way more fees than we used to, everything takes way longer than it used to, errors are at an all time high, and the site runs like crap with no improvements in years.

I love using COMC for $3-5ish cards that I don't want to individually sell on my own. I love using COMC to buy PC cards with the money I make on those small sales. I love being able to buy and flip, and to have the cards stored there until I decide to take them.

I hate that the site is run the way it is, and no one seems interested in changing it. I'm still going to use it for what I like it for, but if I have a complaint, I'm going to share it. How else would anything EVER get better?
I get the frustration, but the arguments that are taken to such extremes here are objectively false. Just off the top of my head, three things in recent years were really big adds (and these were just off the top of my head)...
  • When COMC added eBay auctions, that was a huge plus.
  • COMC this past year did away with the added fee for eBay auctions when using store credit to pay - another huge plus
  • The app isn't great, but the latest edition has some real plusses and I use it daily

And compared to other businesses/industries, a lot of what people constantly complain about is experienced EVERYWHERE. Based on the comments, it seems a lot of people see this as COMC exclusive, but it's just not...
  • Fees are higher than they were in 2015 (or whenever)? So are groceries, minimum wage, shipping costs, etc. You name it, it's higher.
  • Shipping is slow? I ordered some stuff for a project at Home Depot, with an estimated arrival date of 2 days. That was a week and a half ago and it was just made available today. Same goes for a jersey I ordered for my son's birthday, which came with a 4-day estimate and is now two weeks going with no end in sight.
  • The site is down? If you haven't experienced one of the numerous cloud services being down in the recent weeks, then you've probably got some sweet job that takes you out in the wilderness for weeks at a time. Because just about every cloud service has been hit. COMC is slow on it's own at times, but so is my internet service, so are other sites and it's just part of the internet landscape.

The extreme hot takes are just disingenuous (at best). COMC just isn't the worst, nor is it the greatest thing since sliced bread. You mention errors at an all-time high, and that might be total errors, but I doubt it's on a rate basis. COMC always made a ton of errors, which I see as one of the company's greatest faults. Part of the service users pay for is card identification, and I can be understanding that errors will happen, but there are just too many for such an important part of the process that is supposed to stem from their expertise and checklist.

And truly, as I've written before, the hobby is amazing and vast. If COMC (or any other platform, seller, chat board, whatever) isn't doing it for you, then go find happiness in the hobby elsewhere. My hope is that everyone in the hobby can find happiness, because I think this hobby is great. I don't think the extreme hot takes (COMC or otherwise), which just seem like people having an agenda they want to push, are helpful in the least.

Hopefully this Black Friday is as strong for selling as last year’s Black Friday was.

Two minor process updates:

After January 9, 2026, they're going to stop accepting credit purchases by mail - you can't send a check to get credit anymore.

Effective yesterday, they've stopped guaranteeing a due date for older, obscure items not already in their database

Quote:
We will no longer guarantee due dates for certain items that require research-heavy catalog work:

Modern items: If the set is not in the COMC catalog at the time your consignment arrives and the item is more than two years old, we cannot guarantee a due date.

Vintage items: If the specific listing is not in the COMC catalog at the time your consignment arrives, we cannot guarantee a due date—regardless of whether the set is known.

I can’t imagine too many people sending checks to buy store credit anyway. COMC doesn’t strike me as having many users who are grandmas.

Has anyone else experienced their ebay account link and autopay for auctions won being broken?

Mine suddenly stopped working Sunday evening and I cannot even force a manual payment through COMC. I sent a message first thing Monday morning but have not received a response.

I’ve never had it broken, but sometimes there’s a blip and instead of minutes it takes 1-3 days for it to autopay for an auction.

Still waiting on a payment to go through for an auction I won on Sunday.

I won three auctions in Sunday and auto pay has not kicked in yet. I emailed yesterday, today is a holiday so not surprised at no movement, but will email again tomorrow. This does happen every now and again.

Default Black Friday

"Sellers, get ready! Black Friday at COMC is expanding into a full week of deals, running Monday, November 24 through Sunday, November 30, 2025, with Cyber Monday capping it all off on December 1. It’s your biggest opportunity of the year to boost sales and reach thousands of eager buyers during the busiest week in the hobby."

Default All I want to do is talk about COMC

I won an eBay comc auction.

For some reason the card is not showing up in my Auctions Won tab on comc, where I would use store credit. My eBay account is linked…no idea why it’s not.

So I’m probably just gonna pay for it on eBay. The card in the eBay checkout has a listed shipping of $2.99 via EBay standard envelope. Which is clearly bogus since it’s a >$350 card. If I checkout will this cause an issue? Or would they still just send it?

That happened to me last week or so. Took about 1/2 a day to show up.

Just wait a bit for it to show up.

My three auctions went through via COMC using store credit in the past hour. I had sent another email this morning, so if you haven’t already, reach out to customer service again and ask them to push it through.

Does anybody on here know how or why comc processes in small batches and not all at once…. Example would be on a 1200 card shipment they will trickle in like one day you’ll get 50 and a few days later 280, then a week later 14 and so on…. I am just curious you would think it would be easier to do all of one shipment at once instead of grabbing a few here and there. But I guess I just don’t understand their system I thought someone on here might…

Seems like they process cards from the same sets from multiple accounts at once

I know they do this at least in part. There were at least 3 occasions from the last batch of cards of mine they processed where another identical card was processed from someone else. They had consecutive ID numbers.

I haven't shipped anything home from COMC since last spring...but did something happen to shipping costs in the last six months?

My son is into Snorlax from Pokemon, so I suggested using COMC to maybe round up some of the low end cards on his want list. He picked up 41 cards and we made sure he was in simplified mode - I even checked after the fact and it shows no additional shipping when you look in inventory.

When he went to look at shipping home, it wants $15.99 ($5.99 + $10.00) which means he's paying another quarter on top of the quarter he already paid in simplified mode. Is that the new cost?

He contacted CS and finally got a reply after two weeks - guy was snarky and oozed a-hole vibes in his response.

My COMC submission says it was delivered around noon today, do they send out a confirmation of retrieval?
