So it’s the system and not the player. LOL
That’s what everyone says when they make excuses for someone

Both of these teams have great running backs and they should both be running heavily

You are not grasping it. Of course, a QB's talent plays it's part. The truly great QB's like Brady, Peyton, etc can play in any system. It's the average QB's (the vast majority who are dependent in playing in systems that work for them.

A great example is Baker Mayfield. He was a practice team DE decoy in the wrong system and then he goes to the right system in Tampa for his skillset and he is in the MVP talks. This is the case for 95% of QB's (edit. 95% of the starting QB's).

The point is Purdy is making all these bonehead plays with a star-studded cast.

The Niners didn’t need to pay a guy $265 million to make boneheaded plays in spite of the avengers.

Sometimes players just don’t grasp it right away. The “system” argument is a crutch. Guys like Darnold, Mayfield, Jones etc sometimes get better with experience.

I’m not saying that the “system” can’t benefit some players and hurt others but if guys don’t make plays, make mistakes, and just don’t get it early- can’t always say it’s the system to blame

I get that. But Purdy was making all the great plays in the playoffs and in the SB game he was a play away from winning it. He’s the same guy in the same system with some of the same all star players

Lamb for Prescott

You can get discounted guys when you already have talent around them. You don’t need to pay a premium for mediocrity.

At halftime, Shanahan pretty much told Brock not to throw the ball downfield anymore.

In other words, he went to higher percentage passing and started running the ball which they should have been doing all along? Smart coach

Shanahan knows the strengths and weaknesses of his team.

No.

Jimmy threw like 8 passes for 77 yards and -1 rushing yards in the NFCCG. Purdy staged a monster comeback in his NFCCG. With his arm, with his feet. 267 yards passing, 48 rushing.

SBs?

Jimmy 20/31 for 219 a TD and two picks.
Brock 23/38 for 255 a TD and no picks.

These two are not the same.

Did Brock ever bang numerous adult film actresses though?

That's where Jimmy Geesus has Purdy beat
