Thankful for my family and thankful for my life. 1 year ago tomorrow I was in the hospital. It was the day it changed my life. I was extremely anemic with a hemoglobin level of 6.6 and had to get a blood transfusion. Eventually it led to surgery number 1 in February which didn't fix the problem (found precancer) followed by a major surgery in April. That surgery brought on a delayed colon infection that lasted for 12 weeks. Had a procedure done to find out why and they discovered a polyp and had I been normal age for said procedure I would have had cancer by then. God is good and looking out for me. Also thankful that my dad didn't lose his life in October. In October he could not move. He thought he was having a stroke. Turns out his potassium was so low at 1.2 he could have had a heart attack and died. He was in the ICU and in the hospital for 3 days. Unfortunately he got diagnosed with kidney disease, but it is manageable with medication and won't need any kind of dialysis unless his kidney function goes down to 15 percent. It's been a rough year for us healthwise but we got through it and hope it is behind us

Nothing to enjoy with that image

Now, if it was Alicia Silverstone circa 1993-1996, then we're talking

Thank you for the insightful post, OP...

I'll throw my hat in the ring...

1) Thankful for my health... it's #1. Health is wealth. I have many areas to improve on... trust me.. but have been blessed versus others and thank my lucky stars for that

2) My partner.. best friend and soon to be wife. Can't succeed without her

3) My job. I work 70+ hours a week. It's excessive, but flexible as I work at home and can be with my family versus living in a hotel room traveling

4) My hobbies... the biggest one, sports cards. Can't give it up after 40 years. I do it for the hunt/fun/hobby, not money... healthy to have something to do for fun and enjoyment

5) Music. It'll push you to a new limit if you dial it in...

6) Blowout. I don't post a lot, I am an introvert, but I check it at least 5x a time

7) My dogs... 2 pugs. Love them. They hang out with me in my office, gets me through the long back-to-back meetings

8) Tough times. They suck... but sometimes you need a hard drop to the bottom before you bounce back higher than ever before

9) Not caring what others think of me... allows me to be myself, brings happiness and confidence

10) Jon. Thanks for all you do. He has such a motivating story and does such good for the community. Not kissing ass... no reason to... you just don't find people like that in life often. The majority of folks I interact with want something from me. So it's refreshing to find someone with a different motive

Happy thanksgiving, all!

I am thankful for the following:

My family. My kids are getting older and we have had a lot of nice conversations recently.

My husband finding a job he loves.

Being able to help people. Assisted 5 people find permanent housing, helped 6 more maintain their permanent housing.

Quiet, reflective screen free mornings

The toys for tots drive Jon does every year.

Super thankful for having a great wife and kids without significant health issues.
Thankful to be employed with a team of really good humans.
Thankful to be a home owner
Thankful to be approaching 53 years on this planet. Although I look back fondly on my youth, the reality is my life has become more rewarding and I’ve gained valuable perspective as I age.

Even as my time and attention spent on cards has become less and less recently I’m thankful to have a place to nerd out with my card buddies online. There are some interesting and inspirational folks on here who I’m lucky to consider friends.

Thankful that my mum’s current chemo cycle finishes soon and there’s a break over Christmas.
Thankful for my wife, who puts up with me.
