Default Ebay not authenticating redemptions?

Sold a redemption that went to Ebay Authentication. Got an email today saying they couldn't authenticate it but still shipped to buyer. Anything I need to do? Or do next time I sell a redemption differently? Thanks.

They should always be miscategorized, as they're not real cards. The only way to truly authenticate them is for them to redeem it.

It’ll proceed as a regular transaction as if you just sent it to the buyer. They get a 3-day window to return if item not as described etc.

“Redemption” is a keyword that exempts listings from ebay authenticity guarantee. To avoid this in the future and prevent the wasted trip, merely include “redemption” somewhere in the listing title. It is surprising that such a listing wouldnt have that term in it.

Edit: in the listing in question, you ended it with Topps Chrome Redemption…

That ellipsis “…” caused the package to take a needless trip through eBay AG

I see that For the life of me I dont even know why I ended the title that way. Never have done that with any of my other listings. Thanks.

It sucks that they refuse to authenticate them as you may get that one buyer that claims the code was scratched or whatever other BS. All they have to authenticate IMO is that it has not been redeemed.
