Well, that’s something. If you’re anti-PSA, looks like it’s CGC or Tom’s Terrific Trading Card Grading.

I imagine that the grading operation will receive no love, and that the deal was mainly focused on IP and brand recognition. They sure as #@#@#@#@ didn’t buy Beckett for its Marketplace.

Inexcusable Beckett didn’t take advantage of PSA’s fraud the last few months and find someone to take advantage. Instead they sell to the fraudsters.

Tough to support anything going on in sports cards right now.

In all seriousness.....seems like a no brainer for PSA. BGS lost A TON of customers over the past few years and maybe (like a big maybe) PSA will help turn that around for BGS fans.

Not that it matters any. As far as I could see, the various Beckett magazines had nary a word to say about the well-documented fraud/incompetence of the various grading companies that were well documented on these boards.

This is awful news for the hobby. Collectors building a monopoly and dismantling all competition to drive people to just PSA. Old heads fondly remember the days when Beckett was king for modern cards. Sad what has happened over the last ten years with them.
