This is the basic edition, for only $70 dlvd. This is a basic install that has a few apps included that will give you the options for watching TV shows, Movies, Sports, etc. This one doesn't have the Live TV option but all Live TV shows are generally uploaded immediately after the show is over or at the very latest within 24 hours of the show ending. If you mainly watch shows you record or anything not live this is a great option.

Instructions:
Using the Fire TV stick
Access the Kodi App
Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Kodi
Go to the Video Tab, select 1Channel or Exodous to watch Movies and Pre-recorded TV Shows (2,000,000 to choose from)

Do I need an Amazon Prime Account to use this?
No, you do not. A regular amazon account is all you need in order to use this.

What is the difference between the options
In the Advanced Edition there are more available apps and options such as 3D/4K there are more apps to watch TV shows, movies, sports , etc. as well as added apps that are specifically for fitness, watching YouTube videos, etc. Then Fire TV Edition has the added benefits listed above as well as being the next to best option for streaming Games and HD content. The Fire TV box has a bigger RAM and processor than the firestick so it can stream videos and content more clearly than a firestick. It has the option to have Wi-fi or be directly connected to the internet via a ethernet cord. It has also has a voice control remote as well as a removable storage card.

How easy is it to install?
All the device is just a plug-and-play device. You plug the firestick into your HDMI port and you're ready to roll.

Best App to watch Sports/Live TV/TV Shows + Movies?
I recommend using Sports Devil or Phoenix Sports or the apps that are made specifically for watching your event, (i.e NBA Pass, NFL Network, 2016 Olympics, etc)
I the Live TV tab and flip through some apps and Covenant or Exodus for recorded TV shows and Movies.

I live in California, is it possible to watch the Longhorns play on Longhorn Network? Or even the Chicago Bears play live? What about the next UFC / MMA fight?
Yes to all those questions! You get access to all sports, NBA, NFL, MLB, UFC, and all the others! You don't have to worry about blackouts or your local company not showing the game, you can watch all of them with this device.

Can I transfer this firestick from one TV to another with no issues?
Yes, since it's just a plug and play device, if you need to move it from one TV to another just unplug it from the current TV it's in and move to the next one. Nothing special has to be done at all.

Can I really only use this and get rid of my cable saving me hundreds of dollars a year?
Absolutely! Ever since I discovered this I have cut my cable and so has my parents and family members. With this you get everything possible you'd get with cable.


Troubleshooting

The Kodi app froze while I using it. What should I do?
Unplug the firestick from it's power source, wait a few moments, then plug it back in and all will be well.

Are there specific apps for what I want to use?
If you want there to be specific apps for things such as watching movies and TV shows, that is included. If you would like for me to specifically include some apps, let me know what you're looking for and I'll be able to work with you.

How's the video Quality / Streams?
For movies, the newer the movie is the lower the quality but for the majority, the options range from Standard Definition to 1080P quality. The TV shows will range from the same quality as well but many have the HD option available as well. For streaming Live TV / Sports some will be crystal clear and others may have some blurriness. The overall quality of the streams depends mainly on your Wifi Connection. Be sure to have a strong internet connection as well as keeping the firestick as close to your Wifi router as possible to enhance it's connection. With the Fire TVs and Gaming Boxes there's no issues with streaming since there's an option to plug it directly into your wifi router.


How do I connect the remote to the firestick if it becomes disconnected?
Remove the batteries from the remote for a few minutes, then place them back in the remote. After that, hold down the home button on the remote until you get a notification on the screen saying a remote has been connected to your Firestick. IF this issue arises you may have to do it once or twice before it connects again.


I accidentally deleted the App from the firestick, what do I do?
PM me and I will redo your firestick for you for a small fee. I do it for free if there's a glitch in the stick and it needs to be redone.


What else can I do with this besides watch TV, Sports Game, Movies, and save money from my cable bill?
In addition to all of that, in the video you'll notice sections such as "Fitness" and "YouTube". The Fitness section has workout programs available such as Insanity to help get you in shape! And of course YouTube has just an endless amount of videos as well.

Do these use XBMC repositories for the movies? I have that installed on my Ouya but it doesn't work very well, a lot of buffering. That may be due to my less than expert level of XBMC knowledge. Can I expect a smooth viewing experience using the Firestick? And what is the chance that Amazon bricks the unit? My internet is broadband, plenty fast enough to support streaming. We use Netflix, Movietube, etc with no problems.

I use TVMC which is like Kodi but a much more advanced version.
The buffering depends on which site it's streamed from as well as the wifi connection strength
Amazon can't brick the unit they can just update their Firestick but they can't force you to update so you can keep your service. So no to answer your question.

It just stream the TV through your Wifi connection. (I believe , not 100% sure of the technical aspect as that's beyond my expertise)

I have the Fire TV with Kodi/XBMC on it. I am not sure how I lived without this for so long. I am surprised by the amount of material with these programs plus you can access live tv/sports. I highly recommend this to everyone.

-Do you get every channel? (within reason obviously, like all channels you'd get with basic cable)
-Sports-wise, how does that work? Do you have to find a stream from a website and jump on that? (like vipbox.tv etc?)
-Movies- is it the same as the sports ppvs?

Couldn't you just download the app on a phone or tablet..mirror it onto your TV or micro hdmi connect it and do it that way vs. a stick or even chromecast?

By reliable do you mean signal strength, clarity, channels available or other?
Yes you get all channels and if you don't get a channel you can stream it from a site and watch any show you want

It's fair quality, not crystal clear but you can see the players pretty well

its a good idea, but if the apps are removed and streaming sites shut down, then you just have a 68.00 useless thumb drive

The apps won't be removed and you get at least 20-30 different sites to steam from, and I don't believe so since this app isn't available through the app stores any more, hence is why you have to jailbreak it

It's pretty easy

And I mean if you want to watch like Family Guy and it's not on then you can go to another app and stream the specific episode you want

Just to help others that may be interested on how a jailbroken firestick works..it is similar to the home theater pc method but a bit more simple using the firestick.
