Default Animated TV series Voice Autograph/Sketch Collections

With card sets based on animated television series already being a favorite of mine, and with Crypto's "Rick and Morty" Season 1 trading cards adding literally thousands more fresh ones to the market, I'm hoping others will join me in showing off autographs of voice talents and sketch collections from the genre.

I'll begin with Scooby-Doo Mysteries and Monsters from Inkworks, made in 2003 and based on the original classic Saturday morning cartoon series. This is a full set of all 9 artists with multiple cards by some of them. The cards with villains on them are of special interest to collectors in this series as there are perceived to be far fewer of them than those depicting members of the Scooby gang. There was also a set of autograph cards of the voice actors, which I'll add once I have them scanned.

NOTE: The card that is a hybrid of Leela from "Futurama" and Peggy Bundy from "Married With Children" is not pack-pulled, but rather was a custom exclusive from the Inkworks booth at the 2007 Comic-Con, drawn by Mark Dos Santos and shortly after, autographed by Katey Sagal herself.

Have you any of these? Archer? Simpsons? Adventure Time? Rick and Morty? etc.? I'd love to see them!

Paying for the Fry is kind of "meta", especially if you paid a lot for it, and in an impulsive manner, haha

Nice stuff, thanks!

Here's a collection of Simpsons voice actor autographs I picked up about 10 years ago which includes some quality signers. The person who got them I'm thinking was in the industry somehow and had access to some pretty big names. The images are just color copies they made of screen grabs from the show.

Ed Asner

Ernest Borgnine

Glenn Close

Ted Danson

Bob Denver

Robert Englund

Mel Gibson

Robert Goulet

Mark Hamill

Chick Hearn

Ron Howard

Elton John

James Earl Jones

Tom Jones

Lucy Lawless

Jack Lemmon

Jon Lovitz

Bob Newhart

Bob Newhart

Pat O'Brien

Christina Ricci

Rod Steiger

Patrick Stewart

Alex Trebek

Kathleen Turner

Adam West

Adam West

Betty White

James Woods

This one of Dr. Demento (Bart's mortal enemy) had no accompanying screen grab, but I guess it would've been a shot of a radio.

This one, I've never been able to figure out. Does it look familiar to anyone out there?

There are also two proper sets of pack issued autograph cards featuring the main and supporting cast members (save for Julie Kavner, the voice of Marge, who didn't sign for either, for whatever reason). I have them, and will post once I can scan them.

I likely have them, I just haven't posted my Scooby, Simpsons, and Family Guy autographs yet. I've got full sets of the Inkworks Simpsons 10 Anniversary and Mania as well as Scooby Mysteries and Monsters which includes Tim Conway. I hope to post them tomorrow.

Thanks for the pictures!
(I love the Brainy Smurf. Why, I pattern myself after him...)

I think I paid $40-$50 for it. Had to have it. There's actually a 11x14 JSA cert up online right now for 79.99 B/O though I think the color is a bit off.

Nice Simpsons sketches. The whole family by Matt himself!

Here's my Comic-Con sketches, all on comic book backing boards. David Silverman is one of the main directors from the shows early years (including being the director of the famed opening sequence and the Simpsons movie). Bill Morrison was the longtime editor-in-chief (or something very similar) of Bongo Comics, publishers of Simpsons and Futurama comic books.

My fave of the Scooby sketch cards is the Dan Fraga variant. I have a Clugston color variant. And I had a high end Ghost Pirate villain, but sold it for mad money when the set was new.

Well, gee, I guess either not a lot of people have this kind of stuff or else they do but don't want to show it off.

Let's try this again. I'll hopefully kickstart a new flurry with this image of my full set of all 9 artists from the "Simpsons Mania" set from Inkworks, made in 2001, so an early sketch set to be sure. Most of these artists were directors of the Simpsons TV series who, among them, literally have more than half of the classic episodes from the so-called "Golden Age" of the show, basically the 1990s, to their credits.

(Thank to super sketch collector Prenz for this arrangement of the cards. )

Only Rich Moore used color on his cards so his and the cards from Phil Ortiz tend to command higher value. In Phil's case, it's because he drew many, many 1 of a kind characters who only appeared within his own set of sketch card (Each artist drew around 250, and most of them largely stuck to the core family members). My Ortiz is of Karl (voiced by Harvey Fierstein), Homer's executive assistant from the early episode where he grew hair and quickly ascended the corporate ladder as a result.

Of special note to me is the card from David Silverman, the Simpsons director in my opinion who did the classic title sequence AND directed the Simpsons Movie from 10 years ago and the one from Wesley Archer. Wes is the animation genius who played a huge role in the development of Mike Judge's "King of the Hill", the second greatest animated series of all-time (after the Simpsons, which even Rick and Morty can never top).

In addition to having one card from all 9 artists, I also made the effort to get at least one card of the main 5 Simpsons family members between them.

There was also a set of autograph cards of the voice actors in this set, which I'll add soon.

Man, I wish I knew about these back then. Then again at that time I think all my simpsons spending was on the action figures they were putting out.

Good stuff! I used to have a bunch of John Kricfalusi Ren & Stimpy related sketches but I gave them away when I found out he was kind of a sexual predator.

Yikes -- I did not know about that. I'm reading up on it. I loved that show as a kid.

Big fan of the Simpsons Mania sketch card set. I'm glad I picked up these a few years back.

A little of topic, but here’s my collection of Star Wars Ewoks/Droids Animation Cels. Over 100 Cels so far and still looking to add characters I don’t have or unique scenes.

Love the Simpsons stuff. Some really amazing (and unique) collections! Thanks for sharing!

Fine collection of cels, there, Raymond, and they look especially nice all together like that.

Very pleased to see another full set of Mania sketches, clearblue, and congrats on the Phil Ortiz Kang (Kodos?), in particular. That's a beauty! All told, I probably had a total of about 30 Simpsons sketches, including an Apu by Swinton Scott like the one you have, but I'm down to my final 9, as shown.

I'm going to add pictures of the Simpsons 10th Anniversary and Mania autograph sets shortly...

My very late contribution...

Batman: The Animated Series - Photos signed by Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker - Batman Signed and Hand Drawn Sketch by Bruce Timm. All obtained in person at San Diego Comic-Con various years.

Y'all mugs are tight with showing off the goods. I'm sure there must be some amazing "Rick & Morty" sketch and autograph collections, but not a single one posted here. For shame!

Anyway, here's the "Scooby-Doo Monsters & Mysteries" autograph set.
(Sketch cards from this are shown in Post #1.)

The original voice of Scooby-Doo, Don Messick, sadly, had already passed away by 2003, when this set was issued, but the rest of the original gang is well represented with signatures. Susan Blu signed many of her cards in blue ball-point pen, but this set has hers in black thin marker, as with all other autographs in the set.

More of my stuff will follow shortly, but what do you have?
Post it up!

Here's a full-set of the first Simpsons voiceover cast autograph card set from 2000 Inkworks Simpsons 10th Anniversary.

These were by redemption card only, and in my experience, they fell either 2 or 3 per case, so assembling a full set by busting wax (well, foil) was a two-case affair with a little luck to not double up on any.

Also shown are some of the redemption cards and a Phil Hartman tribute card from 1998 Inkworks "Small Soldiers". Phil was an intended signer for that set, but his tragic death prevented that. Given that Hartman voiced two popular supporting Simpsons characters ("actor" Troy McClure & "lawyer" Lionel Hutz), there's a good chance he might have, if he lived, signed for this Simpsons Anniversary card set, or else the "Simpsons Mania" set that followed in 2001. The unsigned "Small Soldiers" autograph card was turned into a nice memorial. but never issued. Some got out when Inkworks shuttered in the late 2000's.

Hartman does actually have a pack-issued signed card from the 1992 Star Pics "Saturday Night Live" set, although much due diligence should be employed if purchasing one, as they (and most StarPics cards) are susceptible to easy forgery due to authentification shortcomings.

Here's the followup 2001 "Simpsons Mania" autograph set.
This is a bigger set than the 2000 Anniversary with 7 autographed cards in this one.
There are a few repeat signers (good ones: Homer, Bart, Lisa) but they are joined by Hank Azaria (Moe, Apu, Comic Book Guy, etc.) and cards of Tress MacNeille and Russi Taylor, popular among Disney collectors thanks to their voice work for Disney animation.

These were a little easier to find than the Anniversary autos in that you'd get 5-6 per case as opposed to only 2-3. Even better, these were in the packs, as opposed to redemption cards that needed to be mailed in as with the 2000 Anniversary set.

Also shown is an extra Hank Azaria and a Dan Castellaneta autograph signed on a regular base card.
