Just about 98% of the people posting comments on this article are saying that Zion is going to be an unequivocal historical bust, in stark contrast to the hype and Zion praises that the mainstream media, ESPN and the sports card collecting world are engaged in.
Statements such as "Zion, the next Jamarcus Russell", "Zion, the next John Hot Plate Williams", the next Greg Oden, the next Anthony Bennett etc. Most have him out of the league in 3 years.
Why this huge disparity of opinion between the real world and the sports card world? and I'm pretty sure these people commenting on this article are not sports card enthusiasts.

I just hope to god people believe this so I can actually afford to buy some of his best rookies! LMAOOOOO

I think he will be an all star eventually but I don’t think he will be a superstar. He didn’t impress me the brief time we saw him in summer league compared to how Lebron looked actually playing real games in the nba his rookie season. It can go a million different ways but that’s my feeling.

Let's be real, it's going to be incredibly difficult to reach LeBron status.

I 100% don't think he will be a bust though. Usually the one's who are a bust are lazy. Zion is not lazy.

Even if he's never a 28-30 point scorer i think he will bring a lot of effort and be a big impact on the defensive end.

I think he'll score between 15-18 points per game his rookie year.

He's got quite a bit of talent around him on NO. Usually the guys who score a ton of points don't have anyone else on the team that can score.

the regular non card collecting sports fan does believe it, the problem is we don't....on another zion thread, a poster is asking for advice when to sell zion's cards, 1.Right away, 2. WHEN(not if) he becomes ROY. or 3.Should I hold off till he's winning multiple championships. And if I was you I would steer clear away from buying any of his cards, except it be for a quick turnaround profit

Pretty much this.

It's the media at large that's driving the Lebron hype so they can fulfill their click quota...Zion is a humble dude. Why can't people just let him be the next Zion. He has the ability to be a very unique talent based off his size and athleticism and can affect the game on both ends.

basically same hype as duncan, lebron, durant, anthony davis, dwight howard, etc. people forget about that. zion is special but not like there has never been a super hyped up rookie before.

There is an ebay seller on there with zero feedback that is advertising all this 2019-20 basketball retail stuff for pre-sale.....looks kind of scammy to me. Also is doing some key baseball product preorders albeit most of that at the current inflated preorder prices that everyone else is selling stuff at.
