If you ordered early you got in at 650/700 for a hobby case and 600/650 for a jumbo case. At 1250 a case it will be a grind to make any money. At early prices you will be able to move boxes and probably cases at buyback prices as soon as its released. Update is the same way. Early orders will do well and those buying off sites will pay higher and complain about the price, but they will buy. People crying about Bowman sapphire releasing at $149 a box and people selling for $400 a box on Ebay, but are still buying. I agree Series 2 will be a grind so why complain about it.

Steel City has HOBBY BOXES listed for $139.95! Utter insanity!

I know we aren't supposed to mention other competitors prices here, but they deserve to be called out for their greed on this one.

I thought I remembered the opening presale price being fairly high. At least on Blowout, I don't think they were available for 600/650 a case ever. I may be wrong, but I haven't bought anything since presale Series 1 and I balked at Series 2 because of the opening price.

There’s some early pre sales on eBay. Had Robert rookies at $3.50 per from what I saw. I’d say that’s cheap

Yep - the market signals for them might well be fake Neuse for a while.

Including his photo variation in retail sets with a slim chance at a Topps Chrome variation card. At least I hope Topps was smart enough to include him in the 5 card set.

Presale on this was never that low.

For those saying these prices were never at these low prices they are wrong. Orders were put in in i believe Feb/March time frame to the distributors. Price for Hobby was 700 and Jumbo was 650. This is the same price that 2020 Update was when we placed our order last month. I did not say Blowout , Dave and Adams, SteelCity had these prices available to the general public. Just like WNBA Prizm is 1130 direct from the distributors but is 1350+ presell on most major dealers sites. So please do not put out info that is false.

You are correct. BO never had these presell prices. These were direct prices from distributors that placed orders in Feb/ March time frame.

When talking about presale, please realize that the vast majority of us on this board are not buying from distributors. We can’t read your mind.

I would disagree with you on that.I would say the vast majority do buy from distributors. Seems like most only complain when they can't get product or their allocations get cut. Just look at the Bowman Sapphire thread and all those Montgomery 528 club members who got shut out today. All crying about bots, Topps, the website. There just mad because they could not get boxes for 149 and put them on ebay for 400 before anyone else. Same with series 2. Everybody is saying this product sucks before it is even released on friday. May be true, and may be a nice set and cool sub sets. The biggest ones crying about it are the ones who can't flip it for 200% mark up. It may well be like Bowman baseball which has steadly dropped after release. Run up to release 36/3800 for hobby cases. Now you can get boxes damn near 230 a box or 2400 a case.

How does one buy direct from a distributor? Do you need to have a business or can a regular collector buy from them?

Well after seeing the checklist the prices for boxes should be falling pretty quickly

Not even remotely true. We're just collectors, not dealers. To say this is to think we all have a hookup. The closest most us get to that is our LCS.

We're all complaining because Topps' website is legitimately trash. It's be another thing completely if we just missed it because of timing. And again. Not even close to all of us are looking to flip -- I'd guess at least 69% are looking to rip or hold.

OK, back on topic. I just scanned the CL. Unless they really pump the SPs in a way we haven't seen, this product is....not great at best. There's base Robert, then....who's the second best RC. Akiyama? Graterol? They missed Tsutsugo, unless I missed it, who would be a contender.

You have to get a business license then apply for an account with a master distributor. Good luck getting any product though as a new account. Everything is cut throat right now.

I'm actually dealing with this process right now with a distributor. It's confusing as to exactly which documents you need (depends on what your state offers if you are a certified business, some have business licenses, some don't, etc), plus there is getting an account established, THEN it's hoping to actually get product if you're lucky enough to get in.

It's an unfortunate time to be doing all of this, and may ruin my business, but.......if you're not in, you're out.

What a world.

Opened a jumbo box

All the horizontal cards were misprinted with no black printing plate. At least I think it was the black missing

Hit a Neuse red baseball stats auto /25
Black Braves Acuna and Albies card
Father day Blue /50 Blake Snell

That’s about it for good cards.

I didn’t think to snap a pic of the odds

This might be a bloodbath. Are there MLB the show code cards or anything else that adds value to this release?

I disagree....I would even say that close to 90% on these forums DO NOT buy from distributors....

What a world.
I have a brick & morter retail business and I opened an account with a distributor about a year ago and just because I'm a legitimate business didn't guarantee me an account with my particular distributor. Once I got my foot in the door, I still ran into the problem of being the low man on the totem pole. My allocation were either "none" or possibly "one" box at most. Currently, I am getting more product because I believe my sales rep is really working hard to get me a decent amount of product. Now, it will probably take several more years before I can play with the big boys, but I am in it for the long haul. I've got a large commercial plan in the works and I want to open something that everyone will be excited for. Let me know if you have any questions...
