Also same sex marriage was legalized 9 years ago. How can our culture “pedastalize” LGBTQ but yet many states still have anti LGBTQ laws and it wasn’t even legal for them to marry until recently

In fact You can see just from this thread that anyone who dare voice a thought or view that doesnt agree with a gay athlete openly pronouncing their sexual preferences on social media is attacked and ridiculed and is said to "just not understand". America was founded on the principle that a gay man could voice his thoughts freely and openly and his voice not be quashed or censored even if the majority of people did not agree with those thoughts. And at the same time, a heterosexual man could voice his thoughts openly and freely and his voice not be quashed or censored even if the majority of people did not agree with those thoughts.

The same thing happened all during Trump's tenure. Free speech was squashed by the media if that speech didnt support the media's agenda. If you supported a certain politician you were deemed a racist homophobe. No questions asked, just labeled.

I continue to believe that the sexual preferences and private lives of athletes should stay private. While the athletes are free to share those preferences publicly if they want, I do not support them doing that (neither heterosexual nor homosexual preferences). While I dont support any type of discrimination based on sexual preference, I dont think discussion of sexual preferences has any place in professional sports. Thats my opinion and I can guarantee it is the opinion of much of the silent majority. I think its great if Mr. Nassib wants to donate money to organizations that help gay youths deal with the issues they face being gay and be active in the gay community. Just like I think its great if other athletes donate money to organizations that help all children deal with the issues they face being a teenager, like depression, drugs, etc. Most of my friends and colleagues dont announce when we are donating money to charities. We just do it.

There are undoubtedly dozens and dozens of gay professional athletes, baseball players, basketball players, football players, hockey players. But who cares. I dont care what they do off the field or whether they prefer to be with men sexually. I want to watch sports and enjoy sports and read about an athlete's statistics, not his sexual preference.

I support my gay relatives and gay friends, but I disagree with them on many issues just as I disagree with my heterosexual relatives and friends on many issues.

Now, this heterosexual man needs to get back to my favorite pastime of collecting cardboard pictures of men!!!

Yes I have had relatives live through Nazi Germany and in laws in my extended family who fled the Soviet Union and a twitter mob tweeting about a conservative viewpoint isn't the same as being thrown in a forced labour camp for being gay, Jewish, a communist, a practicing Catholic, a trade unionist, a Gypsy or anyone else who opposed the states views on these groups or the party.

I had a high school teammate/schoolmate who was Jewish who put a Jewish religious symbol on his door as grown man damn near 50 and had a Swastika or a slur spray painted on his door. This pathetic act of bullying made the papers and the man had to get his family help to find an alarm system and get a video camera for his front door.

This is why minorities have to march to show their rights are never being given back.

I'm technically a minority as I am a product of a mixed marriage but I appear Greek or Italian instead of biracial so I haven't had too many racist problems in my life unlike my more African looking relatives(including my mother).

Turn off the Fox News. Before he came out as gay he had a 25 million dollar contract he was plenty rich.

This isn’t even worth debating. We just passed anti-discriminatory workplace protections for LGBT workers and we still have a boatload of advancements to be made for LGBT folks.
