I just don't get how people think going up to someone in the street and punching them because they feel like it is remotely the same as 2 professional athletes getting into it at practice.

I don't even like Draymond Green at all. I'm just pointing out that it is a unique situation. Nobody is wanting to normalize violence.

Oh my comment wasn't' directed at you per se. But I'd say Drays behavior in general is just proof of societal devolution, not just looking at folks reaction to it. Topic is too deep so not wanting to derail.

Life comes at us fast sometimes, whether it's an illness or job loss, and can threaten to punch us in our faces. I'd like to live in a society where we can feel comfortable enough to drop our guard and have a safety net against such unsolicited aggression. Poole looked comfortable and dropped his guard after shoving Green, he thought society's and the league's punitive strategy would keep him safe. If we are arguing for further punishment we are arguing for increasing society's safety net. Otherwise we are all Poole and we either take the punch or learn to better protect ourselves.
