maybe cryin’ ryan knew he was doing the same thing, and if he called out harbaugh, he’d get caught in the web, both of them would be suspended for the game and he’d get out of the loss being posted on his record.

Its the same reason why they have the rules in place about sign stealing. Its not against the rules to steal signs. Its against the rules to do it, the way Michigan was. Since not all teams can afford to travel to all those games to steal. Or pay for the equipment needed to do so.

Until all 10 conferences and those 131 teams can afford helmet mics and communication devices, the NCAA cant let the "rich" teams have an advantage over the poor ones.

Might be much more widespread than just Michigan. Also, you are presenting the matter as a fait accompli while in fact the investigation has not discovered any evidence of the alleged activity.

I’m not disagreeing with your points here. By immediately, I should have said as soon as feasible.

However, the push to immediately punish Michigan when other schools rule breaking going back decades took a long time for the NCAA to adjudicate seems a bit hasty. The big rush seems to be more of certain schools wanting an easier path to the CFP. If Michigan did wrong, they should be punished accordingly. But the process any other school would have to be subject to should also apply. But social media mobs want immediate action. This was the point I was attempting to make.

We still do, 5-2* is a wonderful record against him. Now that he'll be back to reality this year we'll see how he does

Hypothetically, I may have met a ex-military vet in the mid 80’s from let’s say Arizona. This vet may know of a person who was dating a star running back from hypothetically program like USC who had a $100,000 check from a booster.

The wealthy become wealthier with talent because they have the means. That’s the NCAA and to say it only happens for one program is ignorance. The real ignorance is that Harbaugh is utilizing the portal better than Day, Smart, Sabin, etc better than just about everybody but maybe Deion Sanders. That is why Michigan has changed its program. Not this guff sign stealing cr@p. Colorado could be considered the worst program in Division 1 a year ago. A year later they are playing with anybody.

Anybody who rises above the old guard will be scrutinized for doing what the old guard is struggling with. Deion Sanders is crushing it with the use of the Portal.

Fair! I should have said "allegedly". But it was the way Big Blue "allegedly" stole signs, that cause the uproar. Not the fact that they "allegedly" did so (although some want to cry about that). Since sign stealing itself is not against the rules. It was the means, not the act, that could be in violation.

And I'm with you on both accounts. If your school is too poor to have a mic and headset, you really shouldn't be playing organized ball. But as long as the little guys (which by far make up most of the NCAA schools) wag their finger, the powers that be give in.

If Shepherd University was accused of the same thing, no media would cover it and no fans would care. The fact that its a major school, and lead by a polarizing coach, is why we are even talking about it.
