yes, they lay them on the counter, use their ipad to take a pic of the front, turn them over, take a pic of the back, then seal them in a plastic bag and put them in a locked drawer. and while they are taking their pictures, i take a picture of the front and backs myself. but honestly, if you are worried about it that much, i just would not send them in at all. personally, as i have said before, i like their system a lot more than dropping them off at a card shop, where they might sit for a month while people are in and out all day long, behind the counter, acting like they own the place and who knows who could get their grubby hands on them. but everyone has to do what makes them feel comfortable

Yes, they take the pic in front of you on an iPad, and they have you sign saying they're yours and its all correct. Then they seal them in the bag in front of you. Then they put them in the back of the store until they mail them out. I personally wouldn't hesitate sending anything through them, but others have stated there have been issues, but I believe that is a small percentage of what goes out.

One other thing that I like about it, is when they put the stickers on the back and take the pic of the back, you know that your cards are being graded. When grading with big submitters, how do you know that you're getting your actual card being graded if someone else is sending in the same card? Here, you know that your card is being graded.

Yes, they use their tablet to take pictures of the front and back of your cards. Then they print out labels for each card and put that sticker on the semi-riged cardholder. Then they put all your cards in a bag and seal the bag. Then they put a sticker on your bag (mine put it over the bag opening to show the bag was sealed). Mine then put it in a locked drawer.

Fantastic! Thanks all for the replies! This process that they do in front of you, makes me much more comfortable. With this process, it also gives you proof of them taking ownership of the cards. I feel like once they take the pictures and seal the cards, they are liable for what happens to them and the $500 coverage kicks in.

I am planning on taking some cards over today. They are in top loaders and not cardsavers, I hope that's not going to be an issue. I am thinking it is not.

You can buy the card savers there when you bring them. They wont take the top loader.

Sold a card to Gamestop for credit. Normally you get paid very low considering what you sell for. I crunched numbers from the last sale and what they gave me was only $8 less than what I would have received after all eBay and PayPal fees. The plus, is I wouldn't have to worry about "Chargebacks", Broken slabs received and insurance. The amount was also a bit more than what I seen online, and I think it may be because of Pro week and getting an extra percentage from that.

I dropped off my first submission through gamestop on March 6th and got an email yesterday saying it is ready for pickup....

I'm going today to pick them up.... I'm very happy with the grades I got and the turnaround time...

My Feb 27th submission has been sitting in QA for two weeks now.

How long after they gave you the grades, did you get the call to pick up?

Actually my grades showed up in the morning and then later on that same day they said my cards were ready for pickup... my cards took a kind of long time to show up as having arrived to psa but once it changed to arrived it went through the different steps pretty fast...

I was actually surprised how quick they came back... when I submit with comc it feels like forever waiting to get stuff back from psa

You are lucky they hit me with a 41 dollar upcharge on the submission I picked up this week

what happens when a store closes down. Never used this service, but they just shut one down by me unexpectedly.

So I have a theory about this.. I think once the store receives them, they release the grades to you. Seems like my theory of QA includes mailing back to Gamestop is pretty spot on. They receive the box or it is out for delivery, you get your grades. They open the box and call customers later.

My most current submission that has been graded is sitting in QA and has been for the 3rd week now. It is still under 45 business days(currently 43), so that may be why. I am still believing part of the QA is them mailing it out to the store to pickup from and they give you the grades, and between 24hours-2 days or so before you get a call to pick them up.

I am curious as to whether mine is sitting at my store right now and they are awaiting the go-ahead to open the box and call me.

The reason I say this is that, one time the crew at the store told me they receive boxes, they don't know what's in them until they are alerted to open them and contact the customer.

It will probably show that for a bit. It's weird how quickly things can or cannot move through the system. I don't know who they mail it to first, if it goes to their own people or gamestop to enter the card into the system before grading.

38 Sports Card Submission
GameStop Drop-Off: 3/31/25
Shipped to PSA: 4/7/25
PSA Received:
Arrived:
R/ID:
Grading:
Assembly:
QA:
Grades Ready:
Pickup:

I shipped a 2 card Dual grading to PSA maybe a week or two after dropping this off at GameStop and that was marked as received by PSA a few weeks ago, so I’m going to assume the GameStop app isn’t really going to update until the cards are ready for pickup.
