I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Kal Daniels.

Beckett was right about Jeff Clement’s light-tower power.
Too bad he could never make contact. |

Worse was me selling every hockey and basketball card I had to jump to baseball and trying to navigate Bowman 1sts and RCs and prospect cards and not knowing which was which. I bought two Chris Marrero Bowman Chrome Gold RCs for $100 each and lost my ass on both.
Never listened to Beckett again.

Don Mattingly, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Roger Clemens, Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, and Bo Jackson. I stopped buying prospects after these guys disappointed.

Jeff Stone. Hit .362 in 200pa in his rookie year. Never became an every day starter.
Domonic Brown, easier to remember. Made the ASG after a white-hot 6 weeks, was a top 5 MLB prospect and then did nothing. Career OPS+ of 95. Scott Kingery. Too many injuries.

Kingery looked pretty good in 2019, then 2020 hit, he got COVID, and wasn’t quite ready for 2021- by that point all the adjustments that Gabe Kapler and crew made him go through totally messed up his swing, and he never really got to play his natural position, 2b. Stott was then ready and I think he’s Harper’s guy (they’re both from Vegas), so they moved on to him. Then they signed Trea and there was just nowhere to put him so they just sat him in the minors for 2 years. I wish they would have brought him back up at some point instead of guys like Cal Stevenson, Buddy Kennedy, et al, to give him one more shot. Alas, he’s now in Anaheim but I’m still pulling for ol’ Scotty Jetpax.

As a kid I put all of my allowance into rookie cards of Ty Howington, Austin Kearns, Jay Bruce, and Adam Dunn.
I'm glad that gambling apps didn't exist then. |

But it was Kearns that was truly heartbreaking. I'm sure he would have been an absolute star if not for the collision at home plate with Ray King. After the shoulder injury, he was never the same. But prior to the injury, he was amazing. |

Haven't seen that name in awhile. Definitely a AAAA player. I've got a very nice, very cheap collection of Clement from post-career pick ups. Thankfully I wasn't in on him at the start.

Mark Montgomery for the Yankees. He was touted as Mariano Rivera's replacement. I bought heavily into his cards and even picked up an autographed ball at one of his signings and had it inscribed with his 5K inning; 1st ever in MiLB history. Injuries did him in.

Nick Senzel was pretty hyped in cincinnati and was supposed to be a cornerstone of the team. I also bought in to Robert Stephenson, still have a decent amount of 2011 bowman color refractors somewhere

Not a prospect but MadBum. Have a nice collection and would have been close to a HOF career. Then wrecked on a ATV, injured his shoulder, and everything changed.
