It took me a few minutes last night to notice new NBA cards had arrived. Shelves look like a colorful third world suburb of boxes of all shapes, sizes, and prices. About 8 total baseball brands. Prizm Draft Basketball now too.

Selected an Update hanger. I really like those nice cardboard 92 style cards. Too bad I have pulled the exact same sequence of 4 cards, three times in a row now. So I have 12 cards, but only 4 checklist spots completed.

I’m fairly sure that’s what the little silver blaster said. Maybe it was Football, or 2020 basketball. There were only a couple of them and the shelves looked like a kid had been randomly re-arranging them. Had never noticed a ‘Prizm Draft’ product before. The total # of products was approaching 20 now.

Saw a bunch of gallery sitting this morning at $80. About 5 of them.

Strange times when there were also Illusions megas and blasters sitting as both rippers and flippers actively passed on them. I grabbed a couple for fun and left 4. 1st rip not good.

More Chronicles draft was also sitting.

Chronicles and Illusions are not great, that's why they sit. It's good for people that want something to open though.

Caught the restock. Much like the picture above. Tons of Illusions blasters and megas. Chronicles NBA blasters. Chronicles Draft hangers. Topps Holiday and Gallery megas. No Mosaic anywhere in sight.

Passed on everything. I usually love Chronicles, but this year's retail product is considerably worse than last year's, which many already felt was mediocre (I still liked it).

Out of the very little I ripped last year I at least got all of the major RCs, multiples of Zion and Ja, even some chrome and parallels. Of the little I ripped this year I still don't think I've gotten a Melo, but a few of the others? And very little chrome... it's not great

The lack of chrome is a big issue for me, especially since it’s really hard to get parallels of the few chrome cards you do get.

On top of that, many of the paper card designs are just absolutely awful. The Playbook card with the green marble borders might be the ugliest base card in the last 5 years. Prestige is very boring. I think Luminance took a step backward.

Just an incredibly underwhelming product.

I saw the exact thing, plus I saw Donruss Holiday FB maybe around 5 blaster boxes. It looked like someone was there, a tornado went through it. Passed on all, but didn't pass on leaf bags (or yard bags).
