Elly was a lot better and a lot younger than AA. Can’t compare the two other than both being high K:BB guys in the minors. Always a red flag. If you can’t make the adjustments in the minors, how are you going to do it in the majors?

I’ve said before, he’s an elite hitter when facing pitchers that don’t belong in the majors. And that’s not a bad things it’s an impressive skill set, just Set your dfs lineups accordingly.

Elly is having a great night, awesome. I hope he keeps it up for the next two weeks, because I have a couple cards I wouldn't mind selling at a show next week. I'm not going to be surprised at all if we never hear from him again.

Elly is certainly capable of having a great game once in a while. He did so last year too. But in between that, you get what he did in his first 33 AB's.

It's ok. Nolan Ryan pitched before humans evolved into the elite ballplayers they are today. So even if it was off Nolan, it wouldn't count. I mean, even the Brewers bullpen don't belong in the majors, and they play in 2024. If you had your way, there could only be 8 teams again, because only a few pitchers belong, and stats against anyone else don't mean anything.

I get that people have EDLC fatigue, the hype has been louder than the results, but his talent is insane and obvious and him succeeding is good for baseball. As a Brewers fan he is both terrifying and fun.

He’s like 3/50 with 3 singles or something vs elite pitchers with like a 60% K rate? To be fair he did go 1/3 with a double and 2 Ks vs wheeler and that is his best game ever.

All I’ve ever said is to be cognizant of it. It’s something I’ve tracked heavily and I’m sure there lots of people on this board that play fantasy baseball/dfs/prop bets that may find that info useful.

Yes, players performing and having fun is great for baseball. So is doing it night in and night out.

The conversation here of late has been about Elly's high strike out rate and what has looked like lazy play on defense. People seem to think that being realistic is being a hater. Elly's high strike out rate and what has looked like lazy play on defense are absolutely concerns. Because guys that strikeout 40% of their at bats usually don't last, especially if they are also poor defenders.

Performing and having fun, yes. But no sense in some of the antics and showboating shown by so many (not just Elly) or the need to drop curse words every time a hit is made or a run is scored.
